??? the mystery of the games factorys X and Y positions ???
one day i was going on my brother's game making thing called the games factory.
when i was in the so called event editor i clicked on an object and discovered these things called X and Y positions!
i am going to tell you what they do.
the X position makes an object move sideways.
to make the object move right you add to the X position.
to make the object move left you take away from the X position.
isnt that incredible?
the Y position makes an object move up and down ways.
to make the object move down you add to the Y position.
to make the object move up you take away from the Y position.
isnt that even more amazing?!
Heh, I think everybody (or almost everybody)already knows about X and Y positions. But looking at your age (10 years?) this is probably new for you. Sorry, but your article is kinda...useless
It's amazing, isn't it? You also have these things called movements, which magically change the X and Y positions - and all you have to do is click a few buttons. Ahh, the wonders of modern technology...
I remember the days when I used to teach a class at my old school about making games with TGF. There were a bunch of 5th and 6th graders in the class who had know idea what X,Y positions are. Only one student was good enough to make a custom movement. The rest kept forgetting how to shoot an object! LOL
Yes Lazarus... the more Phizzy writes here the more stupid it gets... Maybe put in some good argument instead of whining about some damn name I call you... sunshine...
P.S. To the right of the letters on the keyboard, there is a key called "Shift". If you hold it down, and press a letter, the letter will be big. Isn't that amazing?
Be nice guys... Everyone starts somewhere. It's not like it took *that* much time out of your day to read a short article. She was just excited to discover such a powerful tool.
All I can say to people who have nothing better to do than make fun of others all day (without even a good reason) is: Get a life.
Yes, everyone starts somewhere...
There is a KID who CAN make a platform engine! It's not a bird! It's not a plane! It's me! Seriously i'm only 12 (And one of the best in english in my class(and i think i spell pretty good for being 12)) .
LOL Phizzy
CheekyGirl:
An "engine" is just some events or code that do a certain thing that is really important to a game. A "platform engine" might be some events that make you walk left and right when you push arrow keys and jump/fall etc. You don't have to make your own, since klik products come with one built-in (when you click Platform Movement), but some people do using events. The Platform Extension object (MMF bonus pack 1) is particularly useful for this. But it's really not that big of a deal. Just make whatever suits your fancy and have fun
Coolole,
As it so happens, I am also 12, and can tell you that creating a custom platform movement at age 12 is not something to brag about, when so many others have done the same. Being one of the best in English in your class is not an extraordinary feat. If you are native English speaker, you should spell just as well as someone twice your age, for you should have reached a perfection over spelling. If you are not a native English speaker, then let it be known that your spelling should be near perfect as well. You have led me to assume that your English class is at your grade level, something which shows that you do not attempt to increase your IQ by challenging yourself.
If your looking for an accomplishment, then I dareasay that having a skilled Klikker mistake you for a proffesor is somewhere on the list.
Actually darmani64, your comment about being able to spell perfectly at age 12 is completely and utterly WRONG!!
I know a good handful of people (some of them older than me, and I'm 17 btw) who can't spell due to a common condition called Dislexia. Dislexic people cannot spell because the brain cannot piece together written or typed text (similar to parsing). They cannot see the way the letters go together to spell words. They see the words as a big tangle of lines or letters that don't seem to fit together.
BTW, There are so many articles on this site that point to more advanced areas of klik creation tools that any newbie wouldn't know where to start learning.
Articles like this one are very helpful in that they give a solid ground to quite potential clickers. I myself had to start somewhere as I know everyone else here whether they be a programmer, clicker or maths expert has their roots as to how they learnt what they know. As to what Harvy said before, Get a Life.
This is site part of the click "Community". Don't know what that means? I suggest you look it up in a dictionary before visiting any click "Community" site again.
PS, the click community is not an exclusive club for expert programmers only, it is for all clickers whether they are new to click tools or they know every aspect of the programs.
X and Y are to do with geometry, a maths subject you probably haven't done yet. It's actually common knowledge that X is the horizontal plane and Y is vertical. I'm sure you had good intentions, oh little sister of Phizzy, but unfortunately X and Y are no mystery to anyone who's had education past, say, year 6. Better luck next time.
