Hi u all!
I have decided to write an article on where people get their idea from.
For most of you, ideas are not easy to come by. When making a game this can be the hardest challenge. BUT here are some tips to help u find them easier to come across.
1) Always write down your ideas!
I dont know about you; but the worst thing people do is not writing down ideas. By writing down ideas you have already opened room for development on them. When you think of ideas in your head you dont really think about brainstorming in your head as well - this misses out a huge vital section - the developing ideas part. Initial ideas are good to start off with, and some ideas are good as they are, but by developing them you can find many more ideas without even having to think as much
2) Draw my ideas?
I have had numerous comments about this part so these are only a few helping hints.
If you cant draw then it's best not to draw.
If you cant draw very well and you do draw your ideas just keep in mind that they may look better on a computer screen
If you can draw well or a little bit then it is a good idea to draw some of your ideas. But also keep in mind that if you are a good drawer then they might not look as good on a computer screen.
3) NEVER STEAL!!!!
The title to this section is the boldest because I absolutely hate it when ideas are stolen from other people. I do advise that ideas are never stolen or borrowed with the creators permission because i don't think it i fair to use other peoples hard work when none has been put into them yourself.
*WARNING TO THE CREATORS
If you let another person use your ideas or character etc. be careful and make sure that they know exactly what limitations are. I say this because if these precautions arent taken then you sometimes end up with the whole game being ripped. This is fine if you dont mind it but not very many people like the idea of their game being ripped and then created by someone else.
To finish on a good note (hehe) I would say:- Ideas will come to you if you think for them. You will never be a good game creator if you steal and good luck with any game you have developing!
