I need someone to help me write a story line for my game. Not the usual hero gets kidnapped, princess fights lots of generic units in a military base, princess saves hero, plot twist where hero is evil villain who's also the princess's brother, etc.
Just something.. different. Without predictable plot twists. Or without everything in a military base. And without too many generic units. I was trying to do it myself, but I've been brainwashed by so many games that I don't know how to end it without an exploding military base or ultra-predictable plot twist. That's the problem with having the story "write itself" .
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Sounds ok, just as long is it isn't as random as EA games's storylines .

I would love to help too.
Storywriting is the one thing I am really good at.
Here is a beginning I have toyed with for awhile without using:
Greenland 18:45, an american research base in the centre of the island.
Mark: Where is dr. Case? The new research material has arrived and we need him here.
Mark looked very upset.
Patrick: Relax, he is right over there.
He pointed at a shadow who suspiciosly observed the sky on a snowhill. Dr. Case was a sincere looking, elder man wearing an eyepatch on his left eye.
Mark: Strange for a man just to stand there watching the stars
Patrick: It's not so strange. Every one needs a moment alone to just think.
Mark started walking towards Dr. Case, but was startled by a loud voice.
Random guy: Look over there!
Everyones eyes was now attached to a really bright star. The awkward thing was that it was just getting brighter. Suddenly, but too late, they realise that it was not a star at all. A large object was on collisioncourse with the base. It landed right infront of them with an explosion, pushing each one of them into the air.
Burning ice flew in every direction. The setllements caught on fire. The place looked deserted. The only survivor was Mark, but he was paralysed to the waist. He crawled towards Dr. Case, who had been far away from the explosion, seeing surprisingly unbothered. Mark whispered as loud as he could to him: Dr. Case... has you got anything to do with this?
Dr. Case didn't answer. Instead he pulled up the edge of his jacket covering his waist, thus uncovering his helster holding a gun...
Maybe you could use it somehow. It maybe isn't so wellwritten, but I haven't written a story in a long time.
The pickled donkey ate the osama hussian statue that was made out of old sheets of fabric softner. Then they went to mc wendys and orderd 231 hamburgers and threw them at the flying telephone poles. Meanwhile Jerry springs is getting his hedges trimed and suddely spontaiously combusts and gets on his 45 horse power goped and drives himself to Denver international airport and gets 4 tickets to ride the pony at your local king soopers.
I get the feeling you're not into something that's total comic randomnocity (my word. Yuh. I sue you if you use it).... that is unless it's got a solid backbone to it (so after a while, the stupidity almost makes sense, like The Simpsons).
What kind of thing do you want? Do you want plot twists, just not very obvious/clichéd ones? Or is the whole concept of plot twists a cliché that you'd rather avoid?
Would you rather have an unusual slant on the whole military thing, or is military in any form just so over-done that it's out of the question?
Do you want random, or is that just one possibility?
What game are you talking about Muz?
I was just about to tell you a plot i had for a game i was making in rpgmaker 2000 ages ago. It is probably a big pile of poop though.
