Just because, when there are mutable people checking to see if anyone are online, it’s a nice way to encourage people to start using the chat. People just come in, talk with other people... but when people start to leave; other people lose interest and start to leave. After a while, its just people who are new or people who forgot to leave the page and are away from the computer or something. At that point, no one new wants to join because there is nothing to talk about. After the newbie’s get bored and the other people eventually leave, it’s empty. After that, people just pop in every once and a while, then pop back out because no one else is in. This is how MMOG's fail, especially new ones. http://www.facebook.com/truediamondgame
