i'am entirely a programmer but i was thinking about making something other then star trek games ( where i already have pre-made ships , no rips thou! ).. So finally i tried making a character for my game and my first sprite ended like this:

What is it? It looks like the outline of sonic's head, with random patterns.

You tried, but keep practicing.
- The arms are in a strange position, let them relax a bit (hanging besides the body)!
- The hands are WAY too big and look like they are laying on top of the character's arms.
- The legs are too short and too far away from the body, he's almost doing a split!
- Use colours that are closer to each other, for example mostly blue or mostly green, or a mix, but not something like yellow+purple+blue+green/random colours for body parts.
- The head could use some work. There's no face, no expression and the head's too wide.
I dunno. It's a little too artsy for anyone to really judge. If you made a background and stuff to go with it people could probably tell you if you have any skills. . . The trick isn't just making a sprite, you have to be able to make a whole collection of sprites that go well with eachother in a game.
