I was just thinking... The downloads rating system is based on how many thumbs up votes you get, right? So, if Super Ken Senshi, the number one game in the download top 10 of TDC, has 300 thumbs up, that means that to beat it you'd need to get more than 300 thumbs up for your game.
Okay, and if people are saying that TEH COMMUNITY IS DYING, and that the amount of active members in the community has gone down greatly, then doesn't that mean that the highest possible amount of thumbs-up votes you can get for your game has gone down as well? Which means that the new games we today want to call "best click game ever", can never reach the number one position, because there aren't enough active members to vote for it?
I know, TDC has about 25 000 members today, but only a fraction of them are really active, and only part of them even vote for games they download. Just look at the top 10; most games there are created in 2002 or 2003, with inferior software and technology. So basically the top 10 is pretty misleading; not only because you can't determine how good a game is on basis of how many active users liked it, but also because modern games can't reach it anymore.
Does this make sense? I'm just rambling around, but you know, it could be true.

The longer a game is around for, the higher chance there is of someone voting. Therefore, the Top 10 system will always be biased towards the old classics, simply because they were on the Top 10 list first. Personally I'd like to see some kind of panel, maybe not on this site, decide which are the definitive top 10 ever click games.

I know, but still, a new game can still be much better than the classics. So basically it just shows the top 10 klik classics, but not really the best ever. So it is a bit misleading. I think the rating system is a bit too simple anyway. I think it would be better if we could vote 1-5 stars, like with articles, you know.

It sucks that we drove away all of the fun 'N00BS'...that really put new life into this community...
I'm guessing there's probably only about 10 members that are active on a daily bases (the ones who REALLY have no life). Phizzy is probably on the top list of posters.
We need to recruit more bitches.

I thought MMF2 would bring a huge wave of newbies, but I haven't really seen anything like that yet. Maybe they haven't found the click community yet? Or maybe Clickteam's just sold like ten copies this far

The whole system--thumb percentages, gotw, top 10--sucks. The only time I even look at a game page now is if it's frontpage'd and then usually only if someone tells me to play it on MSN.
I'd hoped things would change with the site code rewrite but there's still no good way to tell whether something is worth playing or not. A less biased top ten (panel selected or whatever) would be a step in the right direction. I feel ashamed that kids are seeing that list and playing Milbur, ffs.

I haven't looked at it in a while but it's a pretty terrible list. The hand game was a cool minigame but it doesn't belong on a top 10 list. Milbur, Fishhead 3, Sonic DIY, Lost Valley, Wandering Fighter?

I don't take that list serious at all, There are only 2 games in it that I actually liked playing (streambolt and a game with a kitty). To me it's just a list of games that were really hyped up or just were on some front page for too long, so all retards voted for it, causing games with ripped/traced gfx or standard movements to be in there.
I think Axel is right tho, it's getting pretty impossible to even make it into that list now even when you make a real fucking good game. I think that list needs a brand new start. We have to give new games a chance, because it's all about getting as much attention as possible on the Daily Click, right?
