I wish I'd never got my PSP to be honest... I got it on release day and I only have about 5 games for it... and I last played on the PSP sometime before Christmas o_O
As for Resident Evil, I don't know if a PSP version would be a good idea. It's hard to get immersed in the atmosphere when you're viewing it on a tiny screen, sitting on a bus, with a sandwich in one hand, while being mugged.
I didn't know they made Resident Evil games for DS. Are they any good? I can't really answer your question, but I reckon I would have immersion issues with the even smaller DS screen.
I wasn't attacking the PSP, by the way. After I'd read your post, I looked at your avatar and I swear it had red eyes and flaming beard. All I'm saying is that I don't understand why anyone would want to play an atmospheric horror game on a portable console. You just said yourself that you played Silent Hill in the dark with headphones. If it's only really good in that situation, then how is that better than playing it on a PS2?

Some people liked RE DS, I found it rubbish for the reasons you said. Immersion on a handheld? No ta.
