So I purchased a FANTASTIC new PC a few months ago. The sound card is crap. I used to use Audacity to reocrd any sounds the computer made but due to the cruddy-ness of the sound card, this is no longer possible. Can anyone think of a way other than the classic "Hold a mic to the speakers" way?

Blargh, I have one of those crappy sound chips mentioned in post #1. There's no stereo mix input channel, wtf is up with that?!

Yeah, stereo mix on my other computer was insanely loud too. Just set the recording volume low.
