I just want to know, why do some games get "New game" coverage on the front page and others do not? It must suck to compete for GOTW against games that got the front page treatment by an excitable admin while your own game was left to sink down the list unnoticed. Just as an example, I feel sorry for Ransom this week - a game with a huge explorable city, storyline and varied gameplay - not even getting a mention while others did.
And before someone says it, you'd be kidding yourself if you assumed that even despite front page posts, everyone plays all of the games up for GOTW every week before voting. A lot of people will probably see a link to a new game on the front page and vote for it just because it was enjoyable and they can't be bothered to play the others.
You guys (front page admins) do a good job already, but I think this just needs to be addressed for the sake of the guys who make good games and aren't highlighted on the front page.
There was a long period of time where I would only play games which were on the front page - I forgot this was a game site for a while. ... Too busy lurking around in the forums.
I always love checking out the Dowloads section nowadays tho!
I remember when it was really hard to get a front page mentioning, and it was a big deal if you did. I do agree however, it does seem kinda unfair, or the admins personal favourite games >_>. If you guys weren't so far away Id offer you a piece of this Thortons fudge btw

Folks we put in a new rule last month that whenever a admin accepts a game that he finds worth a mention even if its not the the best game in the world ever as long as its good and playable, the admin "has to" put the game on the front page.
If it happens that we miss a game thats worthy of the front page, do please let me know it works, like what Nim just did with ransom the game got totally over-looked hopefully it will get some more downloads now.
So again folks if you notice a game deserves more praise that we missed let the admins or myself know.

So long as Circy doesn't yell at us for doing just that, because it hasn't even been a whole month and he already jumped on someone for even mildly bringing up a front page mention, in their comments.
