*Please* if you are going to post a download, include necessary files that non-TGF/MMF/MMF2 users will not have; cnc232.dll and cnc32.dll, as well as bass.dll if you are using the DMC object, and any other host of files associated with your game. Likewise, if you release an open-source example of any kind, include your extension objects that you used in it, even if they are as simple as the FastLoop or AdvancedMath objects. Lots of downloads posted at this site are either downloaded by people unfamiliar with klikware or end up drifting onto other freeware sites with people who will never even have heard of it, and these people will not be able to play your games. Very helpful to people who are new to klik games, especially in the case of open sources.

Maybe a little note should be on the submit download page too -_-

That's what I thought

But yeah, it's a good point, I tend to forget that older versions of MMF/TGF don't automatically build them in.

It only takes 2 minutes to find and install the dll files, they're on tonnes of websites and once they're installed you don't need to get them again!

It shouldn't be a problem for the majority of games on TDC that only get played by TDC'ers, but when they start drifting onto different websites, your games are unplayable. When people download an indie game and read "This game cannot run because you don't have cnc232.dll", their first instinct isn't to search the web for it but rather to move it to the recycle bin.

I never had a problem searching for cncs232.dll in Google. Besides MMF2 doesn't need such .dlls, right?

If you know the names of every single person thats ever going to DL your game, its generally not a problem.

It's a mistake to think people are going to waste their time trying to find Dll files for your game. Assuming they realize thats all they need to get it working.

Given the nature of free ware games you're lucky if they can be bothered to sit through your logo and title screen without getting bored and moving on. (make logos skippable lol)

Thats also why installers are a pain, people would rather get playing as quickly as possible and be rid of the game as painlessly as possible if they decide it's boring or downright rubbish.

The Daily Click is a Click community, therefore the obvious thing is that most visitors are Clickers, so they should have the DLLs or at least know where to find them.
When submitting to actual non-click sites the DLLs should be included, but that's not the case.
Anyway, MMF2 doesn't need DLLs to be included, and people slowly stop using older versions, so soon it won't be relevant anymore.

At least people are recycling nowadays. We'll be digging through the landfills for the games we threw away years ago!

Most are normal clickers, but we get all sorts of traffic in here. The guys from Level (czech PC game mag) come in about once a month to check out any strongish freeware games and throw them on the CD included with their magazine (Further ones follow suit). We get more of this type of traffic than you'd expect (but not as much as you'd hope). Including the DLLs AND a decent text description (gameplay, controls, story, etc.) in the archive goes a very long way.

How about adding a link on the top of the downloads section to the dlls? Like a little extra bar above the game list table:

"You may need one of these DLLs:
-KNP-----TGF------MMF1.5-"

Vwarlar. All done? Then just get people to specify in their downloads which are required if any. Just a little 'Use TGF DLL' or 'All DLLS included' note.
