Seriously annoyed now. I've sent off for some I.D so I can go to some pubs/clubs that I don't usually go to (cause my friends have started to get bored of our local pub) and Royal Mail have so kindly lost my I.D.

Yes, all my personal information about me has been lost but what really bites the biscuit, what really annoys me is that all I get for compensation is a book of lovely stamps. I was there like "yes I'm really going to use these arnt I, to a service that loses vital documents". Annoying to that it was sent by Recorded Delivery. (One of the best ones). They said they can't give any money as compensation because it was a written document and nothing of worth.

I am mad.

Meh, just needed to say cause it's really annoyed me.

They used to post every morning between 8-9am on the dot. Nowadays the mail comes at random times from between 9am - 2.00pm, which is really annoying if you need to go out but are expecting an important letter.

This is why I don't trust the Royal Mail much anymore. Yes they're a massive operation and it's very advanced and good, but problems can still occur. I ordered a few things from online shops that never turned up. Some of the more quality sites sent out new items but some didn't.

The buggers.

Aye, I remember waiting for a game that took two months to be delivered. I'm more annoyed that they lost personal information. I just hope my student finance stuff got there safe.

I've never had a problem with them - I guess it depends on where you live as they operate all over the country. I've heard of letters and packages going missing before, but I think it is expected considering the amount of letters and packages they have to deal with. If it happens often in your area then the best thing would be to make an official complaint - I assume you've done that already. The fact they only gave you stamps as compensation is a bit lame though.

That is a shame.. where I live, there's a government shopfront which deals with identification, drivers license. And several around the city, so you don't need to post your important documents away (like passports, birth certificates, health insurance cards etc..).

Royal Mail is nothing compared to what it was.

But it's still usually top notch for the price it is.

It's too late for this now, but just so you know - Recorded Delivery means that Royal Mail can confirm if the other person received your letter - that's all. So if it gets lost, Royal Mail will be like "Thank you for paying extra for Recorded Delivery. We can confirm that the other party has not received your letter", and you'll be all like WTF I KNOW? You can't track things sent by Recorded Delivery (send it by Special Delivery next time).

Sorry to hear about that dude. Yes, the Royal Mail is unfortunately a poor substitute for what we should have for a postal service. Like it was said earlier, we used to have mail on the dot between 8-9am, however due to the dinosaurs running it and the idiots in charge of the unions, as well as the Health & Safety morons who won't let them start their rounds until near mid-day, it is slowly crumbling as a service. Yes it's cheap for what they do, but they seem to forget that they only exist as long as there is a demand for their service.

Some healthy competition might give them a kick up the arse!
