Well first you need to install quicktime or whatever. Then you need a browser that supports the plugin.
I suggest firefox 3.5

Are you talking about uploading music for other people to hear? Just upload an mp3, that's the simplest way. But know that most free hosts don't have a MIME type set up for mp3 files (or have it set up as a binary file), so it'll ask you to download it as a file instead of playing it with Quicktime. Just find a good host.
