I finally finished Proffesor Layton and the Diabolical Box (bought it on holiday, couldn't wait for Pandora's box to come out in the UK ) last night, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. Does anyone else enjoy playing on these games? They're very nicely made with wonderful artwork and atmosphere, and feature some awesome animated cut scenes, bonus features and musical little numbers. Some of the puzzles are mean too. So yes, if you own a DS/DSi I recommend you try them when you get the chance

I must say though, the American version has a different voice actor for the character Luke, Proffesor Layton's apprentice. Im not as keen, he sounds like and American child putting on an English accent, and some of the words are pronounced strangely, unlike the European version where Luke has a cockney accent which sounds more authentic. Just makes a little bit of a difference, but over all not too bad.
They bothered to change the voice acting between the English European and American versions? O_o That's kind of weird.
I may have to pick this up some time, because my DS has had a sorry lack of use lately. Got some moolah to spend too, so could treat myself to a trip to the game store.
Different mystery stories for each one, filled with puzzles. Basically you explore towns, talk to townsfolk and they give you puzzles to solve/unlock parts of the mystery.

I'm actually not sure if it's animated.. :} All the posters here are of the game character Layton but there are real people on the website (http://www.layton-movie.jp/ ).
The EU cockney voice is pretty annoying and a pretty lazy stab at an unrealistic accent. I dunno, the US voice seems like it's got a lot more expression and character. The 'EU' voice is fairly one dimensional.
The EU version pronounces words properly, for that I can put up with the accent.
Nim thanks for the Link Although I have no idea what it's about, It looks pretty. I'm hoping the random Japanese actors on the site are just for decoration and not actually in the movie

Yeah it's animated. Those are the voice actors (Japanese celebrities, probably)
Ah, I just finished Diabolical Box! It was a lot of fun, but I think I prefered the first one.
The hamster was cool, but I finished it with like five pieces left to find.
Got to say, though, the beginning movie is great, and the final movie with the fight is EPIC in diabolical box (just barely better than the ferris wheel movie from the first one ).
