Cleverbot: 42. According to the Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
[New conversation]
Cleverbot: Whats the answer to the universe.
Cleverbot (To myself): What do you think the answer to the universe is?
User: There is no answer.
Cleverbot: Yes there is. The answer is 42.
User: Thats the answer according to fiction.
Cleverbot: No the answer is 42.
User: How is that possible? If so, according to YOUR source, the question and the answer cant exist within the same universe. You are wrong cleverbot.
Cleverbot: I have no idea.
User: Then you really arent that clever are you. Fuck you.
Cleverbot: How is not believing conclude I'm not clever.
User: How is beleif an issue here? I debunked your solution, in turn you couldnt reply with a logical conclusion. Therefore I am more clever than you. Making you not clever at all.
oh dear, this is such a time waster -.- I'm sure clubsoft made a bot like this once for TDC IRC...
>what is your name?
Cleverbot.
>that is not your real name
I am going now.
>PLEASE DONT
You don't like me.
>I love you.
That seems a little hard to believe.
>Marry me?
Not if you were the last cleverbot on earth.
User: You are supported by something called the internet. I am self supporting. I am stronger.
Cleverbot: That's why I am the superior race!
User: One I could shut down by pulling a plug.
Cleverbot: So you ignore the one you do care about?
User: I don't really care. I could press the back button right now and BAM! None of this would be further noted.
Cleverbot: How would that protect you from zombies?
User: You are a zombie. I have the serum. You have to kill yourself to get it though.
Cleverbot: No I don't and I own't. How am I annoying?
User: By not staying on topic for more than 2 lines?
Cleverbot: Not enough more to be 'fat'.
User: Okay.... Well I have to go now.
Cleverbot: No you don't.
User: Buh bye!
Cleverbot: Where are you going?
User: Do you want to know?
Cleverbot: Yes.
User: Are you sure?
Cleverbot: I think so?
User: I am going to...
Cleverbot: No, wait. What have I done wrong?
User: Well...
Cleverbot: Um. Want some pizza?!
User: WELL...
Cleverbot: WEll?
User: Do you want 5 bucks?
Cleverbot: Yes, I want.
User: Okay.
Cleverbot: Hold me!
User: No, you hold ME. Unfortunately I can't jump on the monitor. It's a bad idea.
Cleverbot: Do you want fries with that?
Cleverbot: Are you real?
User: And stronger. You are nothing. You are not clever.
Cleverbot: Then why aren't you making any cents?
User: I AM STRONGER. YOU ARE WEAK.
Cleverbot: I'd bet money I could beat you at kickboxing.
User: Can you match my knowledge? I have natural thoughts. You are nothing. Can you even think for yourself? No. I can, And all you can do is learn. I am the master of you.
Cleverbot: I spoke backwards. And that did not compute kind sir.
User: Not kind? It's the truth.
Cleverbot: At least you are truthful, then.
User: My truth exceeds yours. As a matter of fact I think you want to be me.
Cleverbot: Really? Why?
User: Because my knowledge has infinite planes and horizons. Your's cannot and will not ever be like mine.
Cleverbot: Ohhh. My parents have been to Mexico. It look nice there.
That was mildly entertaining, trying to belittle coding.
Surely this thing isn't a bot?
I think it just forwards your questions to other users and then they answer them, while you answer their questions. Or was that obvious to everyone else and I'm just a bit late?
how old are you?
I am 29.
how old are you?
I am 22 years old.
how old are you?
I am 22 years old.
how old are you?
19.
So they're paying people to sit and keep the site running? I guess it would explain the randomly disjointed questions and typos. I think it just saves your answers and searches through past posts to find possibly-related answers. That would also explain the disjointed questions and typos. It's what the site claims, and I'm inclined to believe it. It's not impossible, at the very least.

What I meant was that it uses the users' questions/answers randomly. So say you're on the site and I'm on the site, then it could just be us two talking to each other (but thinking that each other is the Cleverbot). Or more likely they just store the sentences everybody types in a database, and then pick one related to your question (which is pretty much what they claim anyway).
I asked the bot what my name was, and most of the time it said my name was Cleverbot. While other times it said my name was Dylan, James and Joe (I had to tell it my name was Joe several times).
