What's your favorite song from snes/nes time?
Mine is probably this, cause I never played the first one, and this sounds like monkeys!

My favorite from Bomberman 2 was I think battle 3. Whichever one plays on the mushroom level. I like the music from Goof Troop. Star fox is a classic. Yea... a bunch of others too.

Call me narrow, but I'd have to say my favorite that I can think of off the top of my head would have to be the Marble Garden Zone from Sonic 3.
Edit:
I'd also like to throw in the Pumpkin Gourge level from Medievil 1 for the Playstation One. By far one of my favorite games for the system.

Oh yes, Sonic music. Sometimes while we're all waxing nostalgic over old Mario games, we forget that the good old Sonic games were not only fantastically fun, but had great music. I've been listening to orchestrated/pianified sonic music quite a bit lately.

I'd like to add another video, hope that's ok.
The Castlevania has some great music, particularly Castlevania 2 for the NES. The music was as good as the game was bad:

Oh God yes. I didn't like SotN's music but Dawn of Sorrow and Order of Ecclesia have fantastic tracks, especially the "final run" sections before the final boss.

The topic is a little bit vague, I assume you mean any computer/console music made between 1985 and 1997ish?
Well Youtube is refusing to load up any videos for me at the moment so i'll take some time to choose one.

The music from the Disgaea series is pretty good, and just today I was incessantly humming the really epic opening theme music from Deus Ex...
Also the Chocobo theme:
And the theme from Total Annihilation:
And Commander Keen's insanely happy Hillville music:

Yes! I found myself probably the last remaining sealed copy (at least the PAL version) of Afternoon of Darkness after months of hunting. I've only played a bit on a friends PSP, very brilliant game with very brilliant music.

Amazing opening track. Totally and utterly love Gunstar Heroes' music.
Pure win. Jesper Kyd's music is just amazing. Brilliant game, brilliant soundtrack.
Movie might be crap, game might be crap too, but this music on the opening just plain owns. That bass line is to like die for.
Has seriously in the past week got addicted to Mega Man Zero 1-4 again. And I love the music in the games. This prolly being the most famous music in the games me thinks I'll put it in this post.

Obviously there are the main themes to "Worms" and "Super Mario Land" (GB) - both ridiculously catchy.
I also really like the music to Zeliard (which I mention a lot, because it was a great and under-rated game).
This tune especially is very chilled, and quite beautiful actually (if you have a decent soundcard):

I have to agree with Joel about the Robocop 3 theme on the Commodore 64. The Nes version of Robocop 3 has a very similar tune although the bassline is a bit different. Actually the Spectrum version half-heartedly tries the same tune but its pretty weak.

I think the WiiWare music for Cave Story isn't very good. I'm still blown away with Cave Story and now I've realised how cool the music is too. Did he make everything in the game by himself?
Same with The Underside. It has really great music too.
