Just had a good read of The Daily Click Rules written by Flava in the Forums pages. There was a small part which i personally felt didn't quite make sence to me or maybe I haven't quite understood correctly what Flava ment. Obviously the DC team are very intelligent people and i'm sure the admin team have there reasons, i don't wish to cause any friction or affence just wanted to ask the reasons why this would be a problem as i don't understand?. Here it is anyway:

Please do not ask the administration team to put your download or preview on the front page of TDC - or to put it in the Game Of The Week poll. Such requests will more than likely be ignored.

Surely users upload there Click Team creations with the intention to show it to the mass's, and on some occasions the user may ask for a front page request if they wasn't getting the attention they deserved i know i would have ask. Example: a recent game created by Chris Street wasn't getting much attention but OldManClayton was kind enough to create a front page spot, if i didn't see this spot i don't think i would have bothered to download Christmas Island because alot of the community was passing on it. After the front page recommendation it appeared to have become very popular i must addmitt i thought it was one of the best Click created games i've ever played but my point here is i would have missed it if not for the front page and i'm sure others would have too. Well i guess what i'm trying to say is whats wrong with asking for a front page spot i thought that DC would incurridge this sort of behavior obviously if the content was decent enough of course. And i'm sure if that was the case and the user was denied or not responded too they would feel very affended i know i would although i honestly can't see that happening but you can see why i'm confused. I know Chris didn't ask for the spot but what would have been wrong in asking? Maybe i have miss understood the point here but again i hope i haven't affended anyone as that wasn't my intention and if i've miss understood then i apologize maybe it needs to be dumbed down for people like me .

I really like The Daily Click platform as its great way to show off your click products and is very easy to use and i'd love for this community too grow i just think the contexted of these few lines the way i understood it may put off new inexperienced members especially if there request was being ignored.

The rule is a little out-dated - I think we introduced it because people used to get upset when their games didn't make the frontpage, so admins used to get a lot of hassle about it. It doesn't really happen so much anymore. If you think your game deserves to be on the frontpage then I'm sure most of the admins would be fine with you sending them a message explaining why (so long as the message isn't abusive or anything).

It's a hold over from when we'd get a "game" which wouldn't hold up to even the KnP examples standards. Really thrown together "I got this block to move, it's a game DEMO/BETA". The authors of some of these games would repeatedly DC mail us, demanding rather rudely that their game be put on the front page.

It's basically to discourage the practice. However, loopholes exist. We know pretty much all the active members, and we get suggestions of what they'd like frontpaged. We miss stuff, probably more stuff than we should.

Good heavens, I don't know what to do with all this undeserved praise. I think also that once upon a time, being on the front page was some kind of sacred thing. I'm glad it's not so much that way any more, but it was just a little taboo back then. Like asking for an honorary award out of the blue. I'm happy to post about a game if someone wants to point it out.

Speaking of which... it's been far too long since the front page was updated.
