Re: Web hosting
It depends on what features you need - all "free" webhosts will disable some stuff unless you pay extra.

I use 110mb.com, and can definitely recommend it (unless you need MySQL, which they seem to have started charging new members for).

All I need is a web hoster to make a site for my Java games, and maybe a bit extra (nothin too fancy, ie: blog, etc). Thanks for the suggestions nim n Sketchy, I'll check those out.

You can go with their sitebuilder or your own html.

Yeah I've been using Webs (used to be Freewebs) for my whole website carreer. I was wondering if there were any other services that give you more upload space. But I think I'll stay with Webs for now. Forgot, to mention I had already used webs.
Thanks for changing my mind OMC, at least someone else uses Webs (I'm guessing)

Why? You must have done *something*
They're actually one of the very few hosts who don't delete your account just because you don't sign in for 30 days.
And they have an average user rating of 8.9/10 here: http://www.free-webhosts.com/reviews/110mb.php
I've used them for a couple of different websites and never had any trouble at all.
Webhosts putting their ads on your page sucks - they make your page load slower, they look ugly, and they can screw up your formatting. That alone should be reason enough to ditch them.

I use 000 web hosting for my site (alastairjohnjack.com), it's been really good free hosting - no hassles what so ever, and lots of features I think.
My brother pays for my domain name though because he has a job where you earn money.

Google sites are alright and give you 100MB of space per site. this might not sound a lot but you could create one for hosting your files and another for hosting your site. I think i currently have around 5 sites in my google account!!!
Taken From Google Sites help:
Quick facts
Single-click page creation Creating a new page for your Google Site just takes the click of a button.
No HTML required Creating a Google Site is as easy as editing a document, which means there's no markup language for you to learn -- just get started.
Make it your own Our customization options let you give your Google Site your own look and feel
Get started with templates We offer a growing list of page types -- web page, announcements, file cabinet, dashboard and list -- to help you get started with your Google Sites pages.
Upload files and attachments Use the file cabinet to upload files up to 10MB in sizeI have successfully uploaded an 18MB file with no issues so not sure what the limit is here. Each Google Apps account receives at least 10GB of storage in Google Sites. Google Apps Premier and Education editions get an additional 500MB for each user account.
Embed rich content Google Sites is integrated with other Google products, so you can insert videos, docs, spreadsheets, presentations, photo slide shows, and calendars directly onto your Google Sites pages.
Work together and share Our permission settings let you designate owners, viewers and collaborators (meaning they can edit pages) for your site. And you can make your Google Sites available to just a few people, your entire organization, or the world.
Search with Google You can search across Google Sites pages and content using powerful Google search technology. You'll find specific pages and documents instantly, the same way you would on Google.com.
They also have a blog option for you to incorporate into your site. Don't you just love Google???
