Hello! I've encountered one of those moments where a slip of the finger inadvertently uncovers a menu shortcut and changes something about a program that you didn't really want to change.

During a bout of frantic clicking and dragging when I was too lazy to zoom out and drag a large image across the canvas, I've accidentally changed one of the interface colours in Photoshop. It's the default colour for whatever is outside the canvas (if the image window is larger than the image) It was grey but now it's black and it's making me feel emo.

Does anyone know how to change it back? I had a quick look at the preferences but didn't see anything immediately obvious.

Ctrl + K

Then click "interface" on the left

Then click the drop down box called "standard screen mode" and select "gray"

Thanks for your help, but I don't have that option in the Preferences.

It turns out that I'm an idiot: You can right-click on the canvas and choose a different background colour (CS3)!
