NES has SMB3 though, a tough title to beat (not to mention zelda, metroid, SMB, etc). Also love my SNES for SMBW, MarioKart etc.
I own a Megadrive and a Master System since back in the day. Alex Kidd was awesome, the Death animation was hilarious and ace as well as the animation. The sound of Bowh Bowh Bowh Bowh Bup! topped it off too perfection. I feel old now! (I know there is some awesome titles on megadrive and Master System too )
I always thought Sega made awesome hardware (Master System leaves the NES in terms of graphics) but the 3rd party games was hit and miss. I mainly collect 8 bit era, finally maged to get a copy of Ghostbusters for the Master System and New Ghostbusters 2 for the NES (a ghostbusters game from back in the day thats not rubbish!). Gaming bliss right now
Still can not stop playing Sensible Soccer either (megadrive)
I recently bought the First Asterix game for the Master system. Fantastic game. I bought a Snes too (I just remembered that topic I started) I'm kinda disappointed with it though! When doing a random search on Ebay for PAL games about 95% of them were bloody sports games. Terranigma is one I have my eye on but it's expensive.
I might get Super adventure island though.
There are a lot of qaulity titles on the NES. Platformers like Castlevania, Mr Gimmick, Batman, Ninja Gaiden III, Shatterhand are always fun. Never got into Super Mario 3, it has too much content and it doesn't have a save system does it?

Well, the thread was asking a question and the question got answered. Let's derail this

I was always the kid without a console (all we had was an IBM XT), my parents didn't think a console would be good for us, but my friends were always the NES and later SNES kids. The kids with SEGA consoles were the ones I got in fights with in the school yard.
Lol the Sega kids was always the cool moody ones! (stereotypes ahoy!).
I had a NES, and was given the Master System from my cousins in the early to mid nineties. I brought the Megadrive 2 myself in about 1995/1996 just to play Sonic, it was about 30 quid in Safeways (which no longer exists). I have started a ZX Spectrum collection off too, but I need more tapes.
My Dad had a IBM XT too, 10 Megabyte hard drive and a CGA display. Battlechess was awesome on it! Also remember some golf game that was kinda fun as a kid, you could build a golf course, and for some reason you could place dinosaurs on it.
I got a dreamcast but I don't have many games and only one controller. Need to fix that...
The only contact I had with SEGA was through Sonic CD (my brother was a mad sonic fan). I didn't even know they made consoles for the longest time. I remember thinking it was so cool and kind of foreign when I went to someone's house and they still had their kid's old Genesis. But not because I was a nintendo kid. I was a "Vidier games? What's them? :B" kid.
I would love to see SEGA (and Apple) jump back into the console race. But then I guess that would be too many current-gen consoles. And I have enjoyed seeing SEGA focus on software. So instead, we should have a "photoshop the next SEGA console" contest.
You could always just download some iso's for Dreamcast, it doesn't have any copy protection. I actually got it for games that I can't get anywhere anyway.
I shudder at the thought of an Apple console. I guess it will have shiny plastic, a lockdown on any software bar anything Apple approves or makes and an intuitive controller, like a big disc. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BnLbv6QYcA
Sorry for being cynical but I am not an Apple fan
I wish it was just Nintendo and Sega as the mainplayers still
After multiple red rings and fixes (real fixes, not the blanket trick) I have gotten sick of this thing breaking down on me. So i took it outside, filled it with news paper and set it on fire. After it finished burning i smashed it with a sledge hammer for a bit.
