Is there advertisements on TDC these days or is my scriptblocker plugin for FireFox doing a grand job?

If there is no ads, perhaps it is time for the advertisements box to go the way of the dodo?

I see plenty of flash advertisements. Sounds like you owe the Mozilla team a thank-you e-mail.

The ads bring in money. I'd rather give TDC money by clicking ads than actually sending money I'd prefer it if ads were something that you could disable by donating.

They're not bad either. I wish they were posted a bit higher. I like some of the Google ads relevant to making/playing games. It's got better stuff than the links page.

Well, logged in there are less ads for you to see than browsing TDC while you're logged out.

But the donation option sounds like a good idea, although I guess that something like an ad-blocker works equally well.

I always look at the ad at the bottom of the thread, sometimes for hilarious results.

Depends on what kind of ad. Here's an attempt to sort different kind of ads from how obnoxious they are, from least to most.

-Text ads
-Static or lightly animated banner ads
-Heavily animated banner ads
-Flashbased ads (visually they are no more annoying than a regular ad, BUT they consume more computer resources)
-Pop up ads/flashbased ads with sound (when browsing in several tabs there's nothing more annoying than hearing a sound and not knowing which tab caused it)

- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
