Nastyman - they say 'you are your own worst critic', but it's important to avoid being more critical of yourself than other people are of you. I think you need to understand that everyone has dark impulses, but it's not intent that people judge; it's action.
There are so many different people in the world and so much chaos that it's extremely disingenuous to assume you're socially unwanted. It might take longer for you to find long-lasting friendships and new relationships, but there are a whole lot of people out in the world with quirks and a lot of incredibly normal people who can see past them.
Rejection sucks no matter how it's conceived. Most people think about rejection in terms of relationships, but any type of social rejection is rough especially when it happens often enough that it appears to be a pattern. Ain't no other advice I can offer aside from 'keep truckin'. Pick yourself up and keep pushing to create new social connections even if your outlook isn't positive.
