I think that every user should have admin privelages on thier own post. If someone is wasting my time, why can't I block them, and delete thier annoying messages? Check out my "Lets talk about girls..." post. When I'm done with that, it should fit onto a piece of paper.

Um, you could always delete it, start a new one, and pretend the whole thing never happened. A lot of people (besides myself) do it a lot. When the second reply to your post is negative, it's very, very likely that the rest will also follow the same tone.
Trust me, people would abuse admin priviledges on their own post. Especially me. If someone said "you suck" to me, I'd just splice it to make it look like he was talking to someone else. And if he whines about that, I'd just delete that post. Data editing is so much fun.

Great, fit it on a piece of paper, fold it into a paper plane and throw it out the window and hope it lands in some garbage mans crack where it belongs.

Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.
I didn't even think of editing when I wrote that comment. Seriously, you could easily splice another user's words on the DC. Especially the way people post around here. Reminds me of the good ol' days when I was an admin .
Besides, I don't think even the admins have rights to block people from a post. If they did, there would probably be an admin section or something.

Delete all the text of their post and have it replace with the reason why the author deleted it. Also have it able to be undone by an admin if it is deemed unreasonable.
Some "stfu noob" becomes "Message Deleted by Thread Author : Unrelated and Immature"

Yeah, good idea. Let the admins also have the priviledge to do that too. It'll explain a lot of the people talking about non-existent posts AND prevent admin oppression.

Yeah, I'd like that but no blocking or outright editing. The editing could be abused and blocking is just ridiculous.

LOL. The editing thing brings back memories of the TK forums .

This is a bad idea. Instead admins should edit/lock/delete posts in a thread. If a "bad" post (attack on someone, etc. you know what I mean) have been made, the admin should edit the post to "deleted by admin" or so and lock that post so the author could not edit it any more. The alternative could be to delete it interely.
That would keep threads on topic and reduce spam/nonsence/etc a lot.
Giving such rights to members would ultimately lead to massive abuse.
If someone abuses thier own post, don't post there. I dunno, maybe there could be a different colour for threads where the user does and doesn't have admin privilages. Maybe there could be some people who say, I'm not gonna post here unless you uncheck your privilages.

Or maybe everyone can just quit bitching and accept that not everyone is going to like everything everyone else has to say. If you're not mature enough to deal with a few annoying people on the internet spamming your thread, I shudder to think how you handle the real world.
Sorry Jon, but every new thread and post I've been seeing you put up since I've realized who you are as an entity has slowly, little by little, made me want to roll my eyes at you and think "What kind of a world does he think he lives in?"
I know you seem to be feeling rather picked on and out of the loop and deserve some power and respect, but... really... This one's kind of drawing near crazy. If you can't take the pressure and heat, don't post, or re-evaluate your approaches.
