Are Fangames really all that bad, as long as they're done right and the graphics are origional? Post your opinions here (not like you'd do anything else).

Fan games are accepted as long as it is not crappy and has a great engine,Oh, ur engine is perfect peblo, i think it will do good.Oh yeah, i forgot you are the same age as my sister.
This has been asked many question, but still I think the message is clear.
As much as fan games tend to be a bit of the scurge of Kliking communities. This is mainly due to the fact they are, obviously, unoriginal and not much imagination or serious creative thought has been put in. But also due to the fact most fan game downloads are usually of a poor quality.
I must say, it would be quite hard to create a game of the quality of many original commercial games, even if they are old. But I mean, there are alot of truely shit games that come through, and you have to wonder what the original developers would think, and how quickly they could track down the creator and how quickly it would take them to send a hit out on them.
I mean I abuse these people only because i've never made a fan game and because all of my 'ripped off' ideas at least have been well disguised in my own original graphics and ideas for gameplay. And having scooped out a large amount of abuse to fan game creators, I've gotta say, there have been a few good ones made.

I've seen a few fan games that were actually pretty good. As long as the programming and graphics are as good as possible, a fan game could do pretty well.

Woah, I just came up on a website that had at least 100 mario releted fan games, and to top it off, they all sucked.

It's not that Fangames are bad, it's just that it's the same game formula done over and over. I mean, you can type in "Mario Fan Games" on any search engine, and find tons and tons of them. And almost all of them are bad. Besides, I feel that one could never duplacate the gaming experince of the orignial(s).
Fine Garbage since 2003.
CURRENT PROJECT:
-Paying off a massive amount of debt in college loans.
-Working in television.
I think the main problem with these games is that clickteam makes it too easy to make a game. People throw together something that would take weeks in any other program.
they use the built in movement and dont take time to learn about hotspots.
