Hey dudes, don't know if you've heard about this yet, but in the UK there's a massive outcry against Manhunt. A 17 year old killed his best friend with a claw hammer, but was obsessed with the game. PC World, Dixons and Currys are to withdraw the game immediately from their shelves, and Woolworths could yet follow... so if you want a copy of the game (PAL), now is probably the best time to get it before it gets banned
yeah. what a load of balls. blame it on the parents, not the games!
"Say you're hanging from a huge cliff at the top of mt. everest and a guy comes along and says he'll save you, and proceeds to throw religious pamphlets at you while simultaniously giving a sermon." - Dustin G
Its not Woolworths, btw, I meant GAME and WH Smith... but I can't edit my post... blargh.

haha, ironic when stuff like this happens, it just creates massive amounts of interest in the game and MORE people play it. i agree it's a load of balls. this is the kind of stupid nannying censorship we could do without. it's not rockstar's problem if stupid kids play their games, it's the retailer's and the parent's fault.
what? Im not reading this correctly. Manhunt AND GTA 3 sucks? Manhunt can be a bit boring from time to time, but it has a great story line. And GTA 3 vice city is probably the best game ever - aside from HL and MGS.
Do you know the story, have you ever sat down, close the curtins and turned off the lights in your room and played manhunt and finished it? I didnt say manhunt was the gratest game ever, but it sure dont suck!
No, but I'm saying Chucky told those kids to kill James Bulger. Have you never seen Child's Play 3, Chucky clearly says on it "Youngsters everywhere, kidnap a child then torture kill him," it wasn't anything to do with the media finding a scapgoat, honest. Our darling young kids don't just kill people without a reason, just like they don't nick cars and vandilise property, young people would never do that without having their fragile little brains corrupted by evil things such as 18-rated video games and movies.
(For the slow ones, this whole post is sarcastic by the way.)

this was on the frontpage of the Daily Mail today, it's so annoying: "BAN THESE EVIL GAMES". they had a list of games and bullshit descriptions of them - Hitman, GTA, Manhunter (of course), some others, and Doom 3. this one amused me because Doom 3 isn't even out yet. also it involves killing aliens on mars, yeah, i'm sure that'll make loads of kids go out and shoot martians. how about, instead of "BAN THESE EVIL GAMES", we have "BAN THESE EVIL KIDS". any kid who is commits some attrocity is not only named and shamed, but locked up for life and the key thrown away. it pisses me off that the bulger killers are out and living off taxpayer money. it pisses me off that columbine was blamed on Doom. it pisses me off that manhunter is being slagged off just because some psychotic kid goes hammer mad on some other kid. it's all bullshit, and it's bullshit that's going to potentially stop good games like Grand Theft Auto being sold in the future. trevor's absoloutly right, we have to blame the kids, and not the games. kids shouldn't even be playing these games anyway. they all have 18 ratings - and ultimately it falls at the feet of the parents to supervise their kids, not the retailers selling the games to underage kids.
i've been waiting to rant about that since i saw the paper this afternoon
