Do you have what it takes?

That's right, it's recruitment time here at DC... We're looking for someone who wants to become a portfolio member here at the best community site around.

What we need is someone who will scour all the company sites and post news about things people are working on, and so on... not just steal information from other community sites (or if you do, at least give credit!) but the majority has to be your own work.

Do you think you have what it takes? Send me an example of something you'd write about something you've found in the community via email. Include a list of 2 well known company sites and 5 not-so-well-known company sites to show you know your way around this community (include URLs)... and dont use your own website either :) Submissions will be checked with community sites to make sure it's not just ripped off.

Submissions dont need to be long (we're not looking for someone who is just going to fill up the main page with text) but they do need to be SPELL AND GRAMMAR CHECKED. Last time I did this every second submission contained horrid spelling... not the best way to flaunt your stuff.

And before everyone complains about all the spelling and grammar errors in this post (i.e. dont start a sentance with "and" ) remember that it's not a good idea to pick on someone who your trying to get a job from! ;D

As an admin you'll get access to special admin-only areas as well as lots of extra privelages on this site and beyond.

I really want to try this, but I'm not getting what is being asked to do in this? From what I am getting, its some kind of contest to see who has what it takes to be an admin & I would really like to try to take this chance on being on! You even know ShadowCaster, how many times I've e-mailed to, asking to be an admin. X-D

LOL :) The second paragraph contains the job description, the third and fourth paragraphs contain the submission description (i.e. what you need to do to be considered). Basically just a short writeup on something that's going in in the community... it can be about a website that's just had an overhaul, a game that's being made by some company (not your own!) and so on. Submissions dont need to be very long, but need to be quality.

The mailto has a space at the beggining ;) I would be happy to post news about the progress of moo RPGs, but that's about it. would I be able to be a part-time admin just doing that, or would it be better if I just PMed whoevers chosen whenever somethings new :p :: Joshtek ::

BTW, like with most places, you will probably be asked from time to time to do things outside the job description (and you of course can pass things onto other admins to do if you dont have time or whatever). But that is your "official" job description.

So basically what your saying is you'd just get all your information from moorpg.tk ? :) BTW for anyone who paid attention to my news article there may be hints to sites you can use in the second part of the submission in these comments! ;)

yes, I could get information from http://moorpg.tk and post news on unfinnished online games (ATM mooRPG only really has unfinnished moo RPGs, but saying that soon it might have Conquer which you can read up on at http://www.geocities.com/tomturton/conquer.html )

So really, all we need to do, is find something intresting going on & write a short "qualty" discription, & send it to you by e-mail & we may get to become a part time admin & get to post news & stuff like that. If so, I'm doing my mest!:-D This is mainly what I've always wanted to do at the daily click!!! Even if its part time, I can still be considered an admin.

Who said "Part Time"? It's full time just like all the other admins :) Theres one other thing you have to do which is relatively easy... see news article for more information.

May I ask though, exactly how much qualty are you looking for? I'm some what good of a writer, when it comes to whiting short books just for the fun of it, but I'm not exactly sure how I should write this.

Oh yeah, and submissions need to be in BEFORE WEDNESDAY AEST! If it takes anyone longer than that, then you take too long to write, or if you dont see this news article until then, you dont visit DC often enough! I dont really know how to define "quality". Dont write it like you would a story, it needs to be brief yet informative, and only give interesting information not absolutely everything you find on a topic... Just use your best judgement. There isnt any set rule for this sort of thing.

AEST is +10 GMT... so you can work it out from there wherever you live.

Depends what your talking about... a full time job is, I think, 8 or more hours per day though that can change depending on the employer. But DC is different... someone who worked at DC "part time" would be someone who came in once a week and did 1 news article... we need more than that :\

No, you can post as many times as you like. You can post 3 news articles on one day if you want, though it's better to spread them out over the week if it's possible.

Is there any way to get my rating changed? Because I really don't like having a swareward in my rating. Though it looks cool, I could rather something a little diffrent, like what you have.X-D

Brandon: How can you say that i never update DC? I have 2 updates visible on the front page still and all up have done more updates than Shen who has been here longer that i have. Next time you say something like that you should get your facts right.

Chicken: I explained the criteria again near the top of all these comments... so just scan through until you see me explain the critera further (I dont blame you for not wanting to read the 65 comments before your one!) Part of being an admin is trying to decypher my crazy language that I invented that no one understands but me.
