Jonny RPG Released!

The (in)famous Smeby has been hyping up several lucrative projects recently, not least his "new autobiographical experimental game" Jonny RPG, which many of you have been anticipating for a while now. It looks like he's been true to his word and has released the game today. It's currently available from his website but I suspect that it will be coming to TDC very soon. (Edit by Wong: Now on TDC!)

Err... I think there might be a new version out which doesn't force you to play the game from c:/jonnyrpg Its a great game, btw :D Review at Klik-Me soon.

Hmm, I installed it in C:\jonnyrpg and I got 2 MCI errors so far (I'm now at the part that you help CYS, which it a bit too much considering the game just started).

For me the game keeps having that fucking glitch with the sounds repeditly playing and the game pausing unless the mouse or keyboard is used, it makes the game impossible to play.

*SPOILER* Okay I'm stuck, I just went into the German Restaurant and talked to MasterM, so I walk out with the Gun then he drives off, I went down to where the Car was and some weird thing is telling me to go back. What do I do now?

With Click-My-Box you hit it until its KO'D, then hit it somemore. You know you've killed it 3/4 of the way when it starts going "Click the box or die."

Nice game, very funny. Shame the author didn't know about appdrive$ + appdir$, and still dumped the game's save INI file in my Windows directory :(

I'm on the portals (worked out how to do them all, now just have to do them all together without dying :P) Excellent game, but if you get the MCI problem, move your folder and rename to C:\Jonny RPG (with a space!).

Spiderhead that is piss easy, hit it, temporarily knock it out and keep hitting it and repeat the process. Now I was kind enough to help somebody kill something, someone help me kill this ghost rabbit on the final portal!!!

I've found somthing, I think its a glitch but I can't tell because the game is designed to be werid. I came to the bit where you see that pizza place with the employees made from water, I explored in there then left to explore some more. I didnt know where to go so I wnet back into the pizza place to explore some more but this time I was invisible :P. I could tell because when I moved I could still scroll the screen. Then I either pressed CTRL or SHIFT and it went to the "Saving in Johnnys Room" screen. I appeared in his room next to some purple/green thing and spoke to it and said "Lets go!" I left the room expecting that thing to follow me, but it didn't so I went back in the room and he was replaced with a goat and there was tomato sause smeared all over the walls! Now, I know that just sounded like the stupidest thing in the world, but I can't tell if it is a glitch or not?

Oh wait theres more this make spoil the story for some people though I'm not sure. I left the house to find that a damn meteorite has crashed in front of the house and there where portals to other dimensions all over the front yard.

I'm having glitch/bug with the sounds,repeditly playing for no reason at all. I just played the game for 3min.,after i got out of Jonhys room,i clicked the jump button and there the sound stucked and repeditly played and caused the game stop responding unless i click something(mouse keyboard). This makes the game impossible to play :( ! I will give it another try later,i hope i can play it!Its a weirdo game but weird games can be fun :P

Nice, not a bad game, took me some minutes to get to like it though. It has some annoying parts, like those warp levels, sometimes you get killed easily on those minigames and have to reload, get to the warps again, etc, gets annoying you know, a 'try again' option on the game over screen could be nice...

I did want to eat babies! I had a mouthful of baby, that's why I don't say anything in Jonny RPG. It also explains the grin.
