Talking Topic #17
News posted 16th May, 2007 by The Chris Street
Which klik game provided you with your favourite moment of awe - and what was that moment?

This is the discussion for this weeks Talking Topic!

Your answer could be based on, for example, the release of a long awaited klik game, or maybe there was an incredible boss battle that you fought your way through? Maybe realising how graphically amazing the game was upon first playing it, or how open-ended it was? Maybe there was a storyline that drove you to continue the game, with a sudden shocking twist, that made you think "wow, that really is something I didn't expect?"

Please submit your opinions in the comments thread. Remember to keep things clean, and please respect the opinions of other individuals. And, if you have any ideas for the Talking Topic, feel free to mail them to me! Happy debating!

hmm. I suppose them Shroomlock (were they?) MMO's had me puzzled and amazed at every turn. I'm too picky to play through a lot of games.

No wait! Knytt! At how big and fluid the world was.

I love storytwists. Naked Phizzy at the end of SS3 anyone?

Never been in awe of a Click game, unfortunately.

I was quite pleased when Sub Zero conditions came out, since it was the first decent click people-shooter.

The graphics in Eternal Daughter were very impressive in parts.

I suppose click games can be impressive but, it doesn't really come close to say, my first time playing hl2 I swear my mouth was wide open the whole way through that game.

When Lunatic Rover came out. I played the crap out of that game

never been in awe, but the best games I've played were Knytt, Lyle in Cube Sector, and that spy game by Blackeye software.

Definitely The Spirit Engine and Kyntt. Those the only ones I can remember.

Posted by viva/volt 17th May, 2007

Knytt. The Spirit Engine was pretty good too... But it kinda got boring.

Posted by waffleton 17th May, 2007

The Spirit Engine was very good for being a walking-simulator.

Posted by Muz 18th May, 2007

The Spirit Engine, when I first started the game and saw how open-ended it was. After about 5 hours, I didn't really care about it much, lol.

When SomeGame is done you might find the ending shocking.

Posted by Aniboy2000 18th May, 2007

Hmm... pretty much all of Brian Su's Macabre Ch. 1... Naimistath X... Ignac.

Whatever happened to all of them? It seems all the incredible klik games became abandonware.

Yes indeed!

Closest thing would have to be PAROXYSM but still I agree with Norris Boothman hasn't really happened to me either.

Posted by Chrisbo 20th May, 2007

I forgot about Ignac. That game was awesome.

Posted by -Liam- 20th May, 2007

PAROXYSM, Eternal Daughter, Knytt, The Monuments of Venus, BEER: Barstool Adventures & South Park Mario... Back in the day! =/

Posted by -Liam- 20th May, 2007

Oh, I forgot Barney Blast!

I'm not surprised a lot of good klik games get abandoned. The way klik is arranged, with big 4 or 5 condition events taking up a quarter of the page... the huge engines become almost impossible to read, unlike in C++ where even the biggest 'events' won't take up more than 3 lines.
