What feature would you most want at TDC? A total of 101 people voted for this poll. Well it was obvious which was going to come out on top. The vote for a new game rating system received 38 votes. This means something may be done about that. ;) In second place, 28 of you all requested a Devlog system, we'll see about that too. Now, if you want to see the full list of results you can click here. And now for the new poll! .:THIS WEEK'S POLL:. Who is your favourite video game character? (one character from each franchise) Alright, don't freak out if your favourite character isn't there. I went for the most popular characters, and ones that people would easily recognise. I was tempted to put Guybrush Threepwood but many of you probably won't know who he is sadly. Other than that though, I did put 'Other' just incase you did want to do an honourable mention in the comments. Right, let's see who you lot like best! Tweet

I didn't realize how terrible Mario looked on other themes. I'm not at my normal computer and I don't have any decent image authoring software to set the transparency right, neither could I find a good Mario picture to replace him. Still, Sonic is a cool character. (if you exclude his latest 3D disasters)

As you mention that I was thinking of adding Simon Belmont as well. Kirby was also a consideration too, but it all boils down to the main stars of video games. Most of these characters are household names, characters that people who don't even play video games would most likely recognise. I also looked at a few top 10 character lists for reference.

Also, I didn't want to completely Nintendorize the list.

It's a bit hard not to! Considering how many iconic characters they've brought us.

Also surprised at Sonic. Didn't it die after Sonic & Knuckles?

I voted Samus. Probably not my fave of all time like, but the recent games (Prime, Zero Mission) are pretty much the best games ever.

Man, you can't ask who is the favorite game character and have a giant picture of Sonic there endorsing the poll! People are fickle and vote for whatever is fresh on their mind, hence Sonic is winning the poll right now. If there had been a picture of Mario, Mario would be winning.

(The exeption to this would be Cloud Strife. No one likes him, with or without a picture.)

Actually Mario was there, but it looks terrible on each different theme so I replaced him with Sonic. I knew putting that there would provoke some people into thinking I'm using it as subliminal messaging telling you to vote for Sonic, but I just put it there because it looked nice and fits each theme. Besides, if that was the case, wouldn't Sonic have a huge majority of the votes? Mario is only 2 votes behind him at this minute.

I can't believe I forgot Megaman. Donkey Kong wasn't getting any votes and if you want to be technical he's still apart of the Mario franchise when you think about it, so therefore Megaman takes his place. That's the last time I'm editing the poll though, no more entries.

Gotta agree Shab (with the Sonic bit). The first games had a good structure to them. Now it's just a rollercoaster platform game.

The Sonic universe is so poor. Every game they add in naff secondary characters who ¨have to fix a rip in the space time continuum!¨, WTF. Knuckles should have been the last character they added. I really do get teary eyed 'cuz all the original Sonics were better than the first 2 Mario Bros games. They broke Sonic down to fan service, FF7 like levels.

You can all call me an idiot, but how is Cloud losing so bad!?!? I guess I was going by gamefaqs.com standards, but I guess it would make sense that he wins there all the time, seeing as most faqs are for rpgs. Still, this is a VERY revealing poll concerning the klik community. Most seem to like platformers, with action-rpgs coming in third. The characters i'd consider 'bad-asses' (samus and snake) would be next. I think this reveals a lot, as most klik games are platformers, and many of the really good platformers tend to borrow from the metroid/castlevania formula.

But I still love Cloud, and as blind as it makes me, I cannot vote against FF7. If I had to pick a secodn place person to divert my bias, I'd go with Solid Snake.

. What about the Prince of Persia, Jessica Cannon, Freeman (Half-Life), the characters from King's Quest, Ash (Pokemon), etc.

Half the characters in the poll are just plain annoying.

This poll is awesome because what Sephirenn says about GameFAQs' character polls is right: The final characters are always Cloud (and / or Sepiroth) , Mario, Link.. I'd rather have Sonic win than one of those guys again.

No joke, I still play those games now. I wish they would have remade more classic games this way instead of cheap-o ports directly to the handhelds. Well, at least they did a decent job with FF3(j).
