What kind of theme should we have for the Xmas Compo?


Only 4 months until Christmas and as always we will be holding our Christmas Competition so we want to know what exactly you want to have as a theme or even if you want a theme for it at all. As always you can discuss within this news item and tell everyone what we should do for this year's competition. Happy voting!

Note: Festive Theme basically means any holiday that takes place within the Winter period including Christmas. So it could be based on Kwanzaa or even Hanukkah. The choice would be yours to create something suitable for that holiday season. Here is a list of different Winter Festivals.

I think we should do a combo. You could do winter or Festive depending on what you feel like.

Good games triumph!

Mario was always going to win, glad to see Sonic there but he's sorta running off early titles.

Religious themed. Else name it a Winter Comp or something, but that'd offend folks below the ol equator.

I voted religious theme so someone can finally get around to making the hilarious Templar Tumblers: Shitfaced. It's a game where you have to steer some of the crusade's finest from the after hours bar down the alleys and into the nearest inn.

ah. cmon, winter theme is okay, christmas theme is okay too, but don't tell me any other theme is a good choice.
winter theme contains any fest in winter, yup?
and, i'd not put any religious tought in my game.
and imho "no theme" is not good for winter. i'd love to play with some games with full of snow or santa's hats.

Lame choices! I think it should be a Christmas RPG compo! Think of the possibilities, Santa, Rudolf, The Snowman, and a piece of fruitcake teaming up against the forces of Christmas... evil?

Nobody has said anything about the category of the game. This doesn't automatically make it a platform game, so we could decide the theme is the only requirement and it could be an RPG or a driving game. We are going to discuss this and see what the best option is, so I wouldn't quote me on that.

This year's theme should be about Kwanza. Only black people know what Kwanza's about, so we should raise awareness of it!

On the themes thing: aren't they all, the same really? I mean, with the exception of festive, all those categories could be in one game. I mean, you can't have a winter theme game without christmas in it. (well, maybe if its snowboarding)
On the vote: I didn't vote, cause i knew exactly who was going to win, so i didn't bother. The more obvious winners (including X and Zero) should have been left out all together. Im almost surprised that master chief didn't get the vote. There goes popularity for ya. (yes, im late, i know)
