| DC Turns 8 this month -- New Desktop Compo!! |

 Happy Birthday TDC! This month the site turns 8 years old! Wow, we are getting ready for the big 10 there. In the beginning of this year we added some stuff to the site and will continue to do so this summer.
However one big change will mark a change for the entire site, we are going to add a huge Mini-Arcade section to the site, were users can compete for highscores earning trophees and more! All tied into the dc-username! We are planning for the site to switch focus from the main downloads page to the Arcade. In my opinion people wanting to actually download a game, install it, play it is in heavy decline. People who do install a game remove after a first or second play. This does not count for everyone but most people it is the truth. People do not have much time for stuff as they used to anymore and want instant play.
For that reason we are going to make the arcade our priority also to keep the site going in the future this has to be done, and we are going to do it right. While this is going on you will see some decline in admin activity, and no the site is not dying but we are going to put all of our time in making things cool for you guys.
Also our latest 2 admins Liam and Simon have been to busy to keep updating the site and we decided it was best to let them go, and they agreed. Shab is going to have a baby soon so he will be out of the picture for a bit and flava well I dont know what happened to him but I am guessing Uni took control over his mind for a bit, dont worry I am trying to get his mind focussed back:) That really leaves me and club as active admins so on that note, when the arcade is completed we will be looking for dc-members to become new admins. But more on that later.
So in a nutshell, Happy 8th Birthday TDC it has been one heck of a ride, but to keep the site fresh and new some changes will have to be made and we are going to make them! So bare with us as we go into this transition. Join me in the comments section saying happy birthday to all the members and admins old and new that have helped this site grow!
One last thing, what would a birthday be without a desktop compo! Here is how it works, take a screenshot of your current desktop and upload it, then post the link on the forum topic (link below) Everyone on the dc will then be able to vote for the best desktop. The winner will receive a (undisclosed) amount of *NeW* DC points. (and yes we are going to finally use those points this year) IF you think you are up for it and share your desktop with the world, then post it on the link below.

Glad the arcade is being implemented. 
I've lost many a roll of scotch-tape and left-handed scissors because of them. 
We'll worry about admins later.
