 Bernie of Fallen Angel fame has uploaded a platform game using 3D models and Unity3D called "Herbert's Island Adventure". Not only is it a neat platform game where you get to play as a hippo with what looks like a fez, it’s a nice example of how 3D models can still be used in the realm of 2D gaming. Good stuff and well worth checking out!
Comments from Bernie: Ok. We know how this works by now. We pick a level on the map, collect as many of the hidden coins, bells or whatever as we can and beat a few bosses along the way.
There are a bunch of secrets and 2 endings in the game. It's also a pretty short affair because I never seem to have enough time for this stuff.
