The third episode of the TDC Archive has arrived, and the focus this time is on a game that was sadly never actually released. But the hype and excitement felt by the community was overwhelming back then, which seldom - if ever - occurs these days.
The battle for supremacy in the realm of the platform RPG heated up in the early years of the 2000's, with no less than three games contending for the attention of the public. Eternal Daughter was one of them, Gemini Ninja Godo was another, while Episode 3 of The TDC Archives focusses on The Chaos Gate, created by Ben Berntson.
GNG and TCG were eventually abandoned, with Eternal Daughter claiming victory in 2002 upon release (in case you ask, Mina of The Pirates is excluded from battle, as it first came to light in 2003, whereas the other games started development years earlier)
If you have any games you'd like me to consider for this, let me know! If you have copies of said games, let me know where I can get them from too ;)
PS: This will be the only video this week - sometime early next week will bring the next mysterious game... what could it be? Only one way to find out :)
Almost looks like the Second version could have been a sequel.
It's funny how games like this looked so stunning one time but now I think it's a little bit scruffy. The knocked down zombies turning around as the player runs past and the blood splatter objects at 5:30.
The textures are a bit repetitive too, and the floor fades to black which ive always found a little lazy.
