Remember the days of the Click Cafe? Well it seems like 3EE are going to bring it back. No, I'm not talking about the "Coming Soon" image which has been on the website for the last 2 years, it looks like they're almost ready to release it to the public. They've updated the CC page to some lengty text, the first of which is "It's Coming... and it's around the corner." Yes, it would seem they've actually been working on something the last couple of years ... Sound intreuging?

Good news, but i will believe it when i see it. Lol i finished a page with basically 50% of what the cafe had, in 4 days. So after 2-3 years it better be good ;)

1. They actually started it about 5 months ago, according to ryan (on the phone). 2. Skn3: Yes, I have made a site with PHP+SQL in the same amount of time, but when there is a site this big, it not only takes coding time, it takes planning time. Tables work together in the site as with any other site, but it goes down about 5 steps in some cases, retrieving information from many tables to add to one table, then change it into a readable format. Yours may have been like the click cafe in that amount of time, but it was certainly not as complex, unless oyu are one of the biggest coding masters of all time (but then you would be using c++, right?)

Or x86 assembly, or course

Hey guys, FYI, the Cafe hasn't been under construction the entire time it has been down. We had to take some time to focus on developing and debugging MooAPI, and to promote the MooAPI CD. For the last few weeks we've completely put MooAPI (the new build we're working on) on hold to focus entirely on the Cafe. We never intended to put it on hold for so long, but you know how things tend to work out over time, people get busy ;) Anyway, the Cafe URL will be announced by Ryan today on V-Chat at noon Pacific, 3pm Eastern. He will also post a message to 3EE Insight and update the main 3EE web page with links. And one more FYI, the Cafe is somewhat complex, the site being very modular so that future development is easier. Not only that, but you'll see how the modularity comes in handy with our new Cafe Affiliate program. Needless to say I think we've put together some things that are pretty new to the community. From a technical perspective the Cafe has about 40 tables, and I think we're currently using 35 of them in the current Cafe build. There are a few more waiting for me to tie them in (ie. Virus alert table, Cafe Messenger user table, etc.) but I just haven't had a chance to design their implementations into the Cafe. More news at the Cafe at opening time ;) See ya guys there! We hope to get Rikus' permission to put a Community link to this awesome site (congrats to Rikus for doing such a great job with it) ASAP. Rikus, if you're reading this please email Ryan at ryguyspk@hotmail.com, he was having a hard time finding your email before opening time. -Sean

Jesse Johnston you cant code web pages in C++ or assembly !!! Linking tables is easy. Its just a amtter of concentration IMO, people can either do a little and say they are doing loads, or do loads and say nothing at all. And having sneaked onto the new cafe it looks amazing :P So i can see their work was done. Oops i said too much.

one thing sean, i think you are really missing out on potential users by missing a 'blitz basic' cafe. Just a thought

We are always taking suggestions for new Cafes, but we need to be sure we can not only deal with it, but we're going to get the traffic to run a successful community site. If there is support for it, we'll gladly host it! -Sean

Nice, I can't wait. In reply to Seans comment of; "congrats to Rikus for doing such a great job with it" (referring to DC). Just like to point out that there are others who've contributed big and small to making Daily Click what it is. They are; Me: For getting Rikus to allow me to remake Daily Click in the first place. Clubsoft: For updating all the code and his design alterage. Andi: For his recent design tweaks making it look better among other things. Shadowcaster: For being a good admin and running the popular compo among other things. etc etc Hope I haven't missed anyone out.
