Not much was done today in comparison with yesterday, but I found someone who will rent me a Mac computer so that I can port the game to the Mac, so now both the Mac and Linux versions are now officially confirmed.
In other news, today I did a couple of background sprites (see screenshot below), tweaked the controls a bit and fixed a few little bugs.
One of the mistakes I did in my past was testing out everything by myself, release the game, and only later when I got some feedback I'd fix the problems. Needless to say, by that time some things couldn't be changed or would give too much work. Now I want everything to be as good as possible from the very beginning.
With that in mind, I'll release a small playable alpha very soon so that people can tell me what's good and what's wrong, so that I can fix the problems before it's too late.
I might say Chris has a point, a little more colour wouldn't hurt I think old Victorian/Steampunk (minus the biomech/future elements) style would be very fitting, some brass/copper/wooden objects and fancy patterns.
Actually I based the style of this game in Little Ghost Joe, I think the overall look of the game was what made it stand out because imo the gameplay was generic and the controls were awful.
I'll keep this style, but I'll try adding some more colors.
