Hmm ... ok ... maybe I will use animation, but only in a passive manner.
If you want to make your sprites animated like oko did that's fine, I'll still use it.
But all I really need is just one frame, a single picture of each creature.
So here's the deal, Both Animated and Non-Animated Sprites will be used.
If you want to animate it, feel free to do so, but it is not needed and the animation will only be used in a very passive way and have no affect upon coding so as to keep things easy and quick.
Passive manner to me means no coding regarding animations.
The plan would be to have only one animation per monster. (walking)
Attacks will be done with special effect sprites.
Then I won't have to fuss with any animation code thereby preventing alot of time-consuming code issues.
