Hey guys, just a quick update. We've been working hard all week! Cakespear has been working on the AI and I have been working on the solo. We've decided to try to finish the solo first, and then tackle the online. If we use this method, then we can release a solo mode beta for you guys to test out while we finish up the online part. Solo mode will hopefully not take long at all since its all single player. I've been trying to think of ways to balance the scores between the solo mode and the online mode and I think I've thought of one...
Sentry Guns
If you don't know what sentry guns are, they're pretty much a mounted turret on a stand that rotates and "views its surroundings". If it spots an enemy (a.k.a zombies) then it will lock onto it and shoot it's huge minigun! The drawback is that it's easy to destroy and it locks onto each zombie one at a time, unless the zombie is out of sight. Here's a picture of the sentry gun:
It looks a bit distorted because it constantly rotates 180 degrees. Once it rotates halfway, it'll reverse its direction. Another thing that I added recently is the online scoreboards! The scoreboards will only work for solo mode, and it records your overall score which is the points you accumulate during the game. The catch is that the points are also your money system, so you can spend your points on new weapons and items, but spend wisely because that will be your final score in the end! I also drew up a quick banner for the global scoreboards:
