Hallelujah! The coursework is over and done with, exams have finished, and I passed first year! And, on top of that, I finally decided to open up MMF for the first time in months and pick up ULSG where I left off!
I stopped because it was starting to get quite difficult to code, and made me wish that ULSG didn't start out as a random experiment that I wasn't really taking seriously. I also wished that I'd added comments, compressed music and sounds more, and generally had more experience before I started the higher versions.
Another reason why I took a break for a while was because of the huge file size (again, inexperience ), which made me think "No-one's gonna download this when it's 130MB, no way". But just today, I've managed to knock about 30MB off the size by modifying the >9000 Chainsplosion graphic:
Yes, it looks exactly the same, but instead of having an object with 30 frames in the animation (yes, I know ), I deleted all but one of the frames, found the "Object Resizer" extension and poked around until it worked properly. And, as a nice side-effect of this fix, the Chainsplosions looks slightly smoother. So I'm doubly happy!
So, yeah, this is basically a rambling update saying "I'm back" and "I'm actually making stuff now instead of playing The Sims 3 and Red Dead Redemption".
I'll be back soon with a bunch of changes - stay tuned!
