In the Mother series, psychic powers have always tooken the place of magic spells that other rpgs fooded with. After a couple days of work, I was finally able to incorporate PSI(Psychic) moves into Motherworld. The really mix things up in battle, but since they cost Pp(Psychic Points) I see them mainly as become boss killers though. I'm just gonna do a run down of the three most basic that I have finished.
To access the PSI Menu, press enter then go to PSI Moves. This menu shows up. You have your moves, and then the degree of the move. The higher the degree, the more powerful and the Pp it consumes. The degrees are Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Omega. Then you exit the menu, and press ctrl at anytime to use the move.
PSI Fire is designed to get you out of trouble. Whenever a large group of enemies seems to ovewhelm and surround you, PSI Fire is the ideal choice. It creates an expanding ring of Fire around you. The higher levels of PSI Fire will expand out farther, PSI Fire Omega pretty much hits everything in sight.
PSI Freeze is the solid attack beast. It shoots straight forward like an arrow. When collided with backdrops, the projectile will shatter and shoots shards in up to 16 directions.(Depending on degree.)
It's easy to cluster a bunch of shards together with multiple PSI Freeze Omegas.
PSI Thunder is the most interesting. When pressing ctrl to use PSI Thunder, a moving arrow will appear above your head. It moves on its own, so you have to time attacks right. Press Space to shoot lightning bolts from the arrow. You will have so many shots depending on the degree of PSI Thunder. When fighting big enemies, PSI Thunder shines, for it is capable of doing the most damage by correctly aimly your shots. But in crowds or fighting fast enemies, it is near useless because you are stationary when using it.
