Still in production
Posted 22nd Aug 10, by -Nick-
Well, it's nearly a year since the last devlog, and no, the game still isn't finished. Things are a little tougher now, I'm working full time so finding time to work on the game is a bit more difficult.

Unfortunately I've switched production from MMF to XNA, but it's not all bad! The game is visually smoother and can handle much more going on on-screen.

Unfortunately, not too much has changed in the game visually. I'm just letting you know that the game does still exist and is very slowly advancing!

XNA?

Does this mean... what I think it means?

If you want to buy me a 360, then yes. If not, then no.

Glad to see this up again. Good choice with XNA - opens up a lot more possibilities.

mmf2 is still better

i dont get it. how did you go from mmf2 to xna? that has to be a huge undertaking in its own right.

there is no code to port. only ideas, event structure, graphics, etc. its like starting from scratch except already having the graphics, and psuedocode done.

am i right in saying all you have been doing this past year is converting it to c# using the xna framework?

Posted by -Nick- 27th August, 2010

No, I've only been in C# for a few months. The first part of the year I was just very busy with my full time job and too tired to work on it properly in the evening.

Converting it over to XNA wasn't simple, but it was a lot easier than I was initially expecting. The results are well worth the time and effort put in!

I haven't abandoned MMF though, Flash is more than enough reason to keep using it.

I think you should release a demo of the mmf version. IF only just to show that it IS possible to do in mmf.

It would be a nice testament to mmf's capabilities as well.

Good to see that you are still working on it. i would love to see a demo and if possible the engine behind it, i think everyone on here would benefit from it.

Anyways keep up the good work Nick!!!

Porting MMF games in C langauges isnt as difficult as it may seem in most caess, since you already have the game logic sorted in many ways and understand exactly how the game should work.
<br />
Its mainly just a matter of figuring out how to convert MMF events and objects into the C.. syntax
