After what seems like very little time, the Battle modes have seen much improvement.
The battles are far more visually appealing now with the addition of battle effects. Every form of attack has a special representation on the battle screen, like slashes, swipes, claws, and bursts. When damage is taken on either side, a red burst appears as visual notification.
If the player dies in a fight, there's a new source of hope. The player can obtain a key item that can only be used once. It permits the player one more chance during a battle, restoring the player to full health so that he may fight again.
Once the enemy has been slain, the corpse slowly diminishes into nothing while the spoils are left behind. The player can accrue these spoils and use them as he/she/it wishes. Items like potions, bones, hides, fangs, foods, blood, feathers, gems, and magical items can be obtained from battle and sold/smithed/combined/eaten.
