The World Loves TAG
Posted 8th Jun 11, by Klayman
Besides this dev-log, my YouTube Channel ( http://www.youtube.com/user/frogman200 ), my Blog ( http://blog.robitstudios.com/ ), and Twitter ( http://twitter.com/robit_studios ) I haven't really done much marketing for TAG. Even so, many other blogs, and websites have been posting about the game. It's been very encouraging to see other people's interest in the game and it's also made me realize that as I get closer to release I will need to start ramping up my marketing efforts. My ultimate goal is to take any and all hype from TAG and spin it into a KickStarter (or other social fundraising site) campaign for my next project. Therefore I'm going to try hard to tie the two together somehow. Hopefully I'll have more information to share regarding the next project soon.

In the mean time, I am going to use this post to aggregate all the press TAG has been receiving from around the internet, and literally around the world.

The Daily Click - Besides all the help I've received on the forums, the admins have featured TAG on the front page news feed. ( http://www.create-games.com/newspage.asp?id=3760 )

8 Bit Horse - I've been a regular visitor of 8-bit Horse and was pleasantly surprised to see TAG made it on the list of noteworthy upcoming 2D games. TAG is featured near the end of the list. ( http://8bithorse.blogspot.com/2010/10/2d-radar.html )

GameSideStory (French) - GameSideStory let me know via Twitter that they have featured TAG on their website. Thanks to google-translate I could soak up all ego-boosting goodness. ( http://www.gamesidestory.com/2011/04/18/treasure-adventure-game-ou-lamour-du-pixel/ )

GameSideStory - Update (French) - They also posted an update with some new screen shots recently. ( http://www.gamesidestory.com/2011/05/20/la-lumiere-sur-treasure-adventure-game/)

Nivel Oculto (Spanish) - This is actually a little daunting - Title of the post? "GOTY INCOMING" That's a lot of pressure. ( http://niveloculto.com/treasure-adventure-game-goty-incoming/ )

Retro Maniac (Spanish) - This Spanish-language game magazine has excellent taste - and that's not just because they gave TAG a gushing write-up on their blog. ( http://retromaniacmagazine.blogspot.com/2011/04/nuevo-trailer-de-treasure-adventure.html )

Pixel Prospector - Pixel Prospector has been a believer in TAG from the early days. I can't thank Simon enough for the press and for keeping the site updated with my latest trailers. ( http://www.pixelprospector.com/indev/2009/10/treasure-adventure-game/ )

Pixel Prospector - Update 1 ( http://www.pixelprospector.com/indev/2010/01/treasure-adventure-game-new-trailer-update-1/ )

Pixel Prospector - Update 2 ( http://www.pixelprospector.com/indev/2011/04/treasure-adventure-game-new-trailer-update-2/ )

I love reading other people's impressions of TAG. If you have a blog or website and want to do a write-up on TAG, feel free to leave a comment here, hit me up on Twitter ( http://twitter.com/robit_studios ) or email me. I'm more than happy to chat with you and I will link your article or blog post right here!

I think the attention is well-warranted, Klayman. A tremendous amount of effort has gone into your game since the days of your first tech demo here (which had already wowed a bunch of the folks here). Naturally, it would gather a lot more attention as word slowly-but-surely-spread.

Keep with it, stay motivated, and always keep in mind that whatever you come up with, people are eagerly anticipating it and will be happy to offer you feedback once it's all done.

And finally, with a quality product completed, as well as being free of charge, will go a long way in persuading folks to plunk down some cash for a Kickstarter project.

Best of success to you, man!

s-m-r - you're words are truly motivating to me. I really have never been so dedicated to a project before. I've gone almost 30 years of my life with out a real passion for anything until I discovered MMF2 and saw the potential I had to make something fun. (I was big into Klik & Play when I was a kid, but never did anything serious with it). I can't wait for you and everyone else to get to play TAG and share your feedback with me.
