Well, I really would like to write a custom server to avoid the crashalicious/glitchfull hassle from before where the Peers decided who was running everything. Unfortunately, Lacewing Server doesn't seem to transmit channel messages correctly in Build 18 Alpha 3. I don't know what other problems it has, but that has been the most obvious for me. I'm still coding both the game and the server nonetheless, but it will be a while before I can even test it - Jamie has to either tell me a temporary solution, or release a new update that fixes the problem I'm experiencing.
I'm also experimenting with the flashlight effect - originally, a white object is placed behind active objects that represent the walls, and these walls have every-other-pixel transparent. This allows the light to go through the walls, but also for the walls to be made visible.
Instead of this, I am thinking of using the Surface object and a flashlight effect I made a while back to vastly improve upon this effect. This means that the goal and other users will not be visible except for within the flashlight radius - it will be a truly dark maze. This also means that the walls can now take on any appearance they with to now - if you want to make any graphics for Masie, feel free, because if you let me do the graphics...well, you don't want that to happen...
If you want to see what I have been using as a test base for my flashlight effect, you can download it here:

Again, it's just a test; there's no telling if levels will be larger or if the walls graphics are final. Take note: the frame it quite large, and the screen DOES scroll!
