Just finished drafting 10 more levels, and received 3 from Willy C to add to the mix. There's over 35 levels of the planned 50 either already in the game, or ready to be imported from my sketchbook.
Here are some screenshots of a selection of the game's newest levels, showcasing the game's range of challenge.
You may also notice some of the HUD stuff that's not sorted out yet. I want to let the player record information about certain levels: how many moves they make, how many pushes they make, and their best record of both moves and pushes on each level. I've balked at this because I want to be able to record game data in an INI file, but I've not learned how to do them yet...The tutorial is downloaded, and I've fiddled around with the example file a bit, but I've not bothered to dedicate time to truly learn it.
At this point, the game starts at level 1, and progresses to the next level in the list once it is beaten. For the final version, I want to allow the player to have a limited selection to choose at the start, but as they complete levels, the more challenging levels are unlocked, maybe a 5-level batch at a time. A truly skilled player would eventually unlock all 50+ levels and could satisfactorily state that they had beaten the game.
INI files are in the works...That's all I can say about that. In the meantime, it's all about converting the level designs I have into MMF2 frames.
