Development was at a slowdown when word of TDC's demise came to light; I decided that, even if the site goes down, I'll keep updating this game and eventually finish it.
I updated the game with a fully-functional level select and so on. The counters for the current level's moves and pushes are working properly now. If a player completes the level and does better than the currently-saved "best moves" and "best pushes" then the old info is replaced with the new totals.
As I don't have a solid Internet connection at home, I will update the downloadable work-in-progress version as soon as I make it to my day job's office. A new devlog entry will be posted then.
Remaining tasks:
- complete all audio files
- ending-game cutscene
I had plans to put in a secret area once the game's 50 stages are completed, but I really don't have the drive to increase this game's load at the moment. I'd much rather finish this project, come up with a Flash-based preview to link on a website somewhere, and then move on to another, more elaborate project.
I've plenty of ideas for new games, current projects already in the works, or different games that use a similar engines to this and others I've messed around with, so apart from more important life-related things I'll still be working on something in MMF in my free time. Additionally, there are some possibilities for collaborations I'd like to check-in with for 2012. Maybe we'll have a game or two finished before the end of the world.
