Tails the Fox Demo

This is my latest demo of Tails the Fox. Tails the fox is based on the hit game Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Sonic Team has been producing trashy sonic games lately and I have decided to make my own sequal to my favorite old classic game. You will see in this game that it is very true to the original. In the demo you get to play the first level of the game. The first level includes two acts and a boss. Please post your comments and reviews.

Bloody winRAR.

Looks good! but 13 mb? Sorry, dial-up stinks.

There's nothing wrong with WinRAR, Circy.

Well, I don't like it, even if its more efficient. Anyway, downloaded winRAR to play, deleted winRAR, kept the demo. Its pretty good. The level music, is it MIDI? I can't tell.

WinZip is bad. Winrar can do both ZIP as RAR, but RAR is much better. Or if you don't like them both use 7-Zip. Even better.

Aha - this looks familiar =P. Well, you know my opinion already. Pretty damn good. However...I get the feeling that some people here may be put off by the large file size (to Circy - The music is in wav/mp3 format).

I would download it, but I really don't want to go get winrar just to play one game... Looks really good though.

i don't see why winrar is such a problem for people, i personally use it all the time, winzip is outdated in my opinion, in terms of quality, winrar does a much better job at compression

I can never get rar stuff to work on my computer

I dont really like winRAR. I useually just download it to play a game and then delete it right after. But I didn't with this game...for I am -_-"....a dial-up user *cries* So 13MB is quite a lot for a one level fan game....whether it is good or not, Im not gonna download it till I get my High-speed internet...IF that ever happens....

But I will add that the two player screenshot looks quite impressive....Still tryin to figure out the whole split screen 2 player thing myself...) :

Wow, I really can't beleive the bad things I'm seeing about winRAR here. Its possibly the best archiver program available... Anyway, the game: Its a pretty impressive sonic clone, but sometimes when I fall down I lose all my momentum. Like I flew off a spring, and I hit the ground but I came to a complete stop. Also, I think the flying is a little too unlimited. The first boss is a little boring too, its pretty easy to just jump once and then let yourself bounce on him for 10 seconds and hes dead. But overall its pretty cool..

shit it's hez! I thought you didnt make sonic games anymore dr. chapman.

As for the game all is good except you have the gravity set by timer events so when the game stops for a second to change music or slows down at all the gravity is effected and your jumps are shorter for a few seconds. Put the gravity on a counter. . . Such as: Always add to gravity counter. When gravity counter equals 5 set gravity counter to 0 and subtract one from gravity2. instead of: every .05 seconds subtract one from gravity.

bah, thats the midi devices fault

Nearly a perfect Sonic engine, except for a few tiny forgivable things. All in all, it's a good demo, even if it offers nothing really new. I can't for the life of me think why it would be 13mb though. Only reason I can think of is that maybe the graphics have been scaled big enough to fit a hi-res screen, rather than the whole game screen simply being played in low-res?

Or it could be the .wav music playing...

Secksy stuff. The first boss reminded me of Sonic 2's first boss, in that in the event of being defeated by it, I would have killed myself for being so lame. Looking forward to the future!

just install winrar and leave it in there. then you don't have to keep downloading it. and if you can't figure out how to get winrar files to work on your computer, then you are a complete moron

it's pretty good but i get the feeling it would be a much better game if you looked into the sort of engines that support proper 360 degree movement. still one of the best sonic (or tails) demos ive played.

One of the best Sonic Fangames I ever played. When I first saw it, my expectations were low, but after seeing how many thumbs up there were, I decided to play. I am very impressed, but after playing, I will add in that everything feels great & I am very impressed with how well its made compaired to the original Tails, but I will add in that there is 1 slight problem that will ruin the entire experence. That would be that when you go to take your first flight with tails, normally you take a nice big first burst up. In your game, as soon as you start flying, you keep falling at the same speed. This is rather annoying for someone whos used Tails enough to get used to him & expect this to happen as it does in the full game. Other then that, love the game & cant wait to see more. ;-)
