Its been a while since I have submitted anything here, but it's better late than never I suppose.

This is my Klik interpretation of Tic Tac Toe or as it is known in some parts of the world, Naughts and Crosses. It features Single player modes and Multiplayer modes. In multiplayer, two people can alternate turns by taking turns using the mouse to click the square you want to occupy. I coded in some pretty good AI, I think. I may release another version in which you can change the difficulty setting, as the computer is not the smartest AI you will have ever seen. But for now, I am pretty proud of it.

The only crap thing about Noughts & Crosses (yes nought is spelt that way ) is that once you know perfect strategy for it, which doesn't take too long, you can never lose. And if you give the AI the same perfect strategy, every game will be a cat's game (tie). Still, good work

@Bricnic... I understand what you are saying, the replay value is not great. Still, its fun to play once in a while... well to me anyway...

Can you not modify the game so that on a players turn they can be either a 'cross' or a 'nought'. The winner is the first to get three matching symbols whether it be 'crosses' or 'noughts'. This makes for a far more interesting and tactical game.

That would be weird... look at it this way:

say one player has 2 'crosses' in a row, then on the other player's turn he decides he wants to be a 'cross' and puts it in the space that will make the 2 'crosses' a line.

wow... what a much more tactical game...

That's exactly my point, you wouldn't want to put two crosses or noughts on the same line... actually it makes the game just a tad more interesting.

I saw it in a book by Martin Gardner I think. He called it 'Wild noughts and crosses'. There's also a good game called 'King' played on the same 3x3 grid which is also based on 'Tic Tac Toe'

you will never get three and then a hole in space and time will open causing the collapse of the universe!!!

... when you are forced to, or make an error of judgement... then the other guy then wins on his next turn!

That variety is still doomed to end in a cat's game every time using perfect strategy on both sides. But admittedly it does add an interesting twist on the old idea
