Hop Chop Spin was made at the end of 2004 as a school project. It has just been lying around lately so we decided to put it on this site for everyone to enjoy.

At this time we called ourselves UF Comtec and we were four people working on the game. But actually it was me and my cousin who made most of the game, the other two just sat around while we did the work. Plus, don't mind the TM and the copyright-thingy. I think we just added it so it would look flashier.

Please note that we couldn't find the open source file for the game so it has massive wav-files as music tracks from the Multimedia Fusion CD (which is the main reason it's 11,6 MB) The game is also in swedish, or at least some of it is. It is sort of mixed english and swedish, and it has got some grammar errors as well. Just try to ignore them. Here is a little wordlist for those who may want one:

Hjälp = Help (the help menu is also in swedish)
Poäng = Points
Tid = Time
Spara = Save
Ladda = Load

Finally to the game itself. As some may notice we got our inspiration from a GBA-game called Kuru Kuru Kuririn by Nintendo. Hop Chop Spin is a puzzle game where you lead this rotating stick through a couple of levels without touching the wall. Simple, but fun.

Navigate through the menus using the mouse, then use the arrowkeys to move and hold SPACE to boost. Some levels have green arrow objects. These objects turns the stick around so that you will be able to get through some passages. Sometimes you need to be quick to touch these before you hit the wall. Also you can collect stars along the levels to increase your total score. There is a total of 11 levels with increasing difficulty.

If you find any glitches, it doesn't really matter. We can't fix them anyway. Most are known anyway. As this is the final version.

And again, sorry for the big filesize. But I hope some of you will still give it a chance.

Large file I can't download it now. And I'd really like to try and play it.

Splendid! Its addictive and the difficulty progression works nicely! Brings back the Kuru memories! Is it your own music?

Thank you for the good words.
Mruqe: Sorry to hear that.
DigiDreams: No, afraid not. It's from the MMF-cd as written in the description.

I finally managed to download and play your game. It's really good. I like the smooth animation and those clear basic backgrounds. It's also very good that the objects are large so you don't have to look very carefully. I would also compliment the idea but I understand it wasn't yours. Too bad you don't have the source files... A version with cut down music would be very nice. It's not that good and it makes the download big. Nonetheles - It's a fun and solid game. Thumbs way up!

good game, but please, dont use swedish as your games language...

Posted by Hempuli 15th May, 2006

Oh, it should be 'sweden' not 'swedish'

Bizarre as it sounds, there is indeed a game with that name - and it was released a couple of years before Kurukurukurukurukururin.

i think they should take a vote to make the official language of the TDC swahili. personally, i vote yes.

Posted by vortex2 16th May, 2006

Good game .

As far as changing the language,I vote no as I don't know how to speak it nor do I intend to...

The gameplay is fun, but the graphics don't look all too good.

Posted by axel 16th May, 2006

And too much library music/sounds too

Posted by UF Comtec 18th May, 2006

Glad to hear so many liked it.

Did anyone actually beat all the stages? I'm curious.

Posted by Retired Kliker Lazarus 18th May, 2006

Oooo! I likes it.

Posted by Airflow 7th June, 2006

I beat it all exept level 8. (Hacking ini files is fun) level 9 was a beast!

The reason I couldn't beat it is because the green rotation change object at the end of the difficult level doesn't work. This makes the exit impossible to get to. I tried 3 times, and I even tried skipping the rotating object, but was like driving a car off a bridge backwards.
