Ok a couple of things so far:

-The jump pose scares me

-holding down on the ground and pressing jump, the jump animation still plays, not a big deal but if you got rid of that it would seem more proffesional

Over all seems very cool though atm very tombraider

Pretty nice. Really neat graphics and all, although there's some things that could be bettar:
-> Music- where is it? ;B
-> Default platform movement = baad
-> A fullscreen/windowed option would be sweet

Still, nice game of what I played so far.

The engine needs a lot of work and Im no coder, in the trailer you don't show that she can stays stuck to the ceiling if you keep your finger down on the keys

Also I was stood next to the lever near the kitchen, pressed X loads to activate and the game had a heart attack

Hi everybody!

It's very nice to read all the feedback you give ^^
I know that the engine ani't solid enough just yet...
But see it like this...
For me to even make a game with a beginning, middle and end is a big breaktrough =P I have a hard time to keep up my motivation since I'm not that god at the coding part...I'm mostly in it either to make some cool graphix/animations or just to tell a story.
But hey I will note you feedback and iéas for the real deal Soon to come ^^

Yes... graphics.

I got stuck in the ceiling because a message came up and told me to, before I realized that I was just abusing a bug and I needed to ceiling climb elsewhere.

Yeah, I was about to play it, but then I didn't want to use the installer

Okay actually, it looked really cool so I decided to play it. The graphics are amazing! And the whole style of the game is cool. However here are some bugs:

*If you press left and right at the same time, the girl runs in the opposite direction.
*At the menu when you loop through the options (ie top to bottom, or bottom to top) you can see the cursor where it's not supposed to be.

But mainly, the engine is just overall pretty buggy. It feels like the built in movement with a bit of modification, which I hope it's not. There are some places where the player just gets stuck and it's pretty impossible to move around.

I found that the controls didn't help with the navigation either. They were a tad hard to remember, mainly the pickaxe and the pushing buttons. Maybe you could combine those into one? Also for when dialog comes up, you should be able to use Z,X or C to go past it, instead of enter. Enter is too far away and not used in the game otherwise. It doesn't make sense to use it.

Also with the level in the dark, where you have a torch, it's really just quite frustrating to play. I think there is a problem with level design there. Such as there being holes and things like that, which you would have no idea what is down them, and the only way to find out would be to jump down them, however after jumping down them, you die

It's a shame someone with your artistic talent is using click products.

Posted by DaVince 29th July, 2007

Why?

Posted by ben mercer 30th July, 2007

Kazuma, SOD OFF!

If you don't like click products then don't post on a click site!

Posted by Hempuli 30th July, 2007

Awesome!

Posted by Hempuli 30th July, 2007

Yeah, Kazuma, I don't see why click products would be bad. Strange that you want to whine about that.

Posted by DaVince 30th July, 2007

lol, talk of overreacting. Calm down boys.

Posted by Yoshimaster 30th July, 2007

A little buggy, but I like it.

OK, now I have played it, and here is what I found out:
There are lots of things that can be done to increase to gaming experience in this one, and there are even some things that I consider must be done before the first final version.

What must be done:
Making it possible to climb a ladder in a decent way. The player should not get into a climbing mode as soon as she is in front of a ladder. The ladders are what cause the major bugs in this beta, when climbing them you can move into walls, not go into crawling mode and not swing the pick-axe. This makes it increadibly hard to get some treassures and even to continue the game at some levels, just because you can't get off the ladder. The player should not climb super fast if she presses jump while climbing, and she should snatch onto the ladder when falling on it, instead of just passing it.

Other things that should be done:
The roof-climbing should be changed so that the player can hold onto it without moving. The player should be able to change direction while monkey-climbing, and not fall down if she would press another button while climbing or even have to press a button to keep climbing.

While pulling a mobile block, the player can walk trhough breakable walls; not good.

The guards in the Enemy HQ should not be able to see through walls, or even through their backs

The player should be able to move in the air even after jumping into a platform. If you don't want it like that I think you should add an animation which shows the player that she hit the wall while jumping.

When standing at the right end of the flowing water object, the player is not pushed to the left, I don't think that's logic.

I am usually not very picky with graphics, but since you are talented I think you can take some critics there as well.
The climbing-ladder animation looked a little wierd. Her collar-bones seemed to be the same size as her breasts, and that is not small. I also think her body seemed bigger when climbing.
The shadow and light followed the rolling boulders in their rotation.
The falling rocks at the end were just a square of chaotic movment (which didn't follow the line of the cieling...)

I think this game is too hard, or at least it become to repetative if you have to start on the first level of each world after having lost just 3-9 lives.
With some bad luck you can loose like three lives in a row, and not even be able to do much about it (the spawning can be a bit awkward sometimes...).
Instead I think that the player should be able to return to each level. There could also be life power-ups...

Don't get me wrong, this game seems to have increadible potential. Over all this is a very beautiful and intelligent creation.
Thumbs up!!!

ARGHHH ARGHHHHHH
I can't dl it. Because of the crappy host.

Posted by Guru Rinpoche 5th August, 2007

Awesome graphics, well done. The only problem I have with it is the jump clipping- when you try to jump over a wall, and even if just the tip of your feet hit it, you lose all momentum...often leading to an undesirable death
