-=Jambuster EX=-

My entry for the Next Generation Competition, Jambuster EX

This extended version of the original has the same basic idea but is greatly improved. The aim of the game is still to speed down the M5 and ram other cars out of the way. Every car you wreck costs the insurance companies money, can you beat the high score of £1,500,000? (actually it's not all that hard).

Features:
-Fixed collision detection bugs! (mostly)*
-Less annoying sound effects!
-Hugely-improved graphics!
-Much better menus!
-Three bonus mini games!
-The title screen mentions the name of the game!

*-For some reason, if you have bus, lorry or barrier on your right, and ram a vehicle on your left, you will occasionally "sink into" it, if it's a car you'll wreck it, but if it's a bus or lorry you'll take masses of damage, so be careful! Oddly, it doesn't happen the other way around.

I gotta say, I much prefer the graphics from the previous version.

I suspect they're ripped off a GTA modding site, but personally I do think they're an improvement.

The gameplay is still *really* dull though.
It would have been much better if the vehicles had more realistic physics, so you could do a hit one car and send it spinning into another in the next lane, or across the central reservation etc. I want to be able to cause huge pileups
That should definitely be do-able with the Phizix extension.

"so you could do a hit one car and send it spinning into another in the next lane"

But that's illegal! >:&

The car graphics most certianly do not come from a GTA modding site, it always irritates me in "other" gane making communities to see gtazz.com mentioned as a "place to get cars" without any thought given to crediting the creators. As to the gameplay, i wanted to capture the original Jambuster, as lame as it was . Jambuster 2, when it eventually gets made (it will have huge amounts of cars not 4) will be totally done from scratch

Not bad (despite what my review automatically said it was, see top-right hand corner), in fact a pretty good re-make of a poor early game. I look forward to the sequel!

Reviewed.
