A fair warning. Star Sky is not a game for everyone. It is a slow-paced game of exploring different choices. There are secrets to unlock, and for those who make it to the end, there is alot of interesting things to reflect about. It is also a peaceful experience and a game about enjoying the ambience the world around you can provide. Make the choices, watch what happens, unlock the secret.

Star Sky is not a game you play for hours on end. You play it once, see what there there is to discover and then play it as many times as you feel like. Then hopefully you will return and finish it at some point, in order to unlock the end. The game is meant to be a relaxing and ambient experience focusing on creating a soothing atmosphere rather than intense gameplay. It is similar to an interactive poem. A poem that has several endings and allow you to explore different scenarios. It is important that you take your time and allow yourself to feel the game as you play it.

Is this made in MMF? Is there a playable demo available for users to try before they buy?

It's made in MMF (wouldn't post it here if it weren't. No demo, unfortunately. I tried it but couldn't really find a good way to do one. Part of the reason for the low price.

Oh look another silhouette game.

I have to agree with gamester on this one.... but we did get a fair warning, this game IS NOT for everyone. personally I can't stand these artsy 'indie' games about 'ambience' and 'experience' etc. but good luck to you anyways..

Hey Marten,

I bought your game! How do you give the girl the rose? And how come I can't pick the rose up again the second time I play it?

Got a copy. It was interesting, although it could have used some more polish, like a less annoying walk cycle, and some of the trees that looked like a stock image filled in with a tacky green gradient kind of killed the ambiance, in fact most of the assets in game looked like stock art, I honestly would've opted for hiring an artist than spend money on stock art. I often felt that doing a silhouette styled game is usually a choice for someone who doesn't want to bother animating, it kind of shows in this.

Other gripes I'd have is the whole system of telling you what you did after you finished the walk, it looked like you were going somewhere with it, but it didn't feel like it. It might have been nice to give the player a reward for finding each of those, not sure if there is one for getting all of them, haven't gotten that far. But it might also be nice if that is the case, if there were something in place that let you know which one's you've done so far.

I realize you were trying more to create a relaxing setting and all that jazz, but that shouldn't be an excuse to exclude all game play.

I also kind of found it odd that someone would follow someone else around just because they gave them a rose. It's like "Hey, here's a rose, come to my house inside of a cave".

Other than those gripes, it was interesting, maybe the fact that you were trying to be artistic was a little overbearing, but hey that's just my take on it.

I hope you do well with the sales, good luck to you.

Since there's no demo, is there some sort of gameplay trailer so I can see what I'm buying before doing so?

Yes, on the webpage, just follow the link. The trailer there is of the gameplay.

It says in the tutorial that you need to listen to the musical cues and stop moving. When you do, stuff will appear around your character and you'll interact with something, odds are you're stopping too far or too close, or not giving it enough time.
